The rear valance / splitter / exhaust surround on my T350 has come away from the bodywork on one side and is hanging down slightly!?

Has anybody had this before and is it an easy fix...? What is it normally attached with?? confused

Haven't got any axle stands and am in work at the moment so not easy for me to see ... any help gratefully received.

Cheers

The rear valence is held on by 5 bolts, 1 either side under the car behund the wheel arch and 3 where the top of the valence connects to the rest of the car (bolts are located through the holes). I suspect a bolt may have come lose and it's an easy fix but be careful not to over tighten the bolts underneath behind the arches as you may end up cracknig the fibreglass.

Cood luck.

Agreed.
It is a two minute job once the car is jacked up to aid access.
On my car the two behind the wheel arch are actually Allen screws.
Just check they are all nipped up tight.

happened on mine a while back, the nuts are 'captive nuts' that are pressed into the fireglass. On mine the nut had come out of the fibreglass and there'e no way you can get it back in. The boys at Automedon put a bolt in through into the reat pocket while it was in for service.

Cheers for the feedback guys.

Just had a closer look under and it appears the fibreglass has snapped where the thin section connects to the underside of the car (by the exhaust 'pipes')

Henley Heritage have fitted me in first thing tommorow but not sure what can be done confused

They should be able to mould on a new bit for you then re-spray. I ripped the valance off mine at the end of last year, spent 3 months trying to find a new part then if didn't fit so had to be "customised". All sorted now though.

Hope it's a simple fix for you.

Actually turned out to be a metal bracket that connected the fibreglass valance to the underside of the car had 'snapped'. Henley Heritage fabricated a new bracket and fitted it whilst I waited this morning, excellent service. All sorted in less than 24 hours from me identifying the original problem!!

Strange thing was that they said the underside of mine was different to others, which typically have two bolts behind the rear wheel arch (as mentioned above) ... mine was a slightly different shape and fixed using brackets toward the centre of the car. Another thing that must've changed between '03 and '04. Luckily mine proved to be an easier / cheaper fix than the later design
