Can anyone tell me does the Tamora have a rev limiter? If so at what revs?

Also what would you suggest is a good set up for the shift lights? Have them set up at 5k/6k/7k just now, but I know that TVR quote max power output at 7200rpm?

I have read through the manual and it only talks about rev limits/recommendations when running the engine in, then says 'between 250-2000 miles the rpm should be gradually increased until max rpm for the vehicle is achieved' - but what is max rpm?

Cheers

Think it's about 7800rpm, maybe slightly more.

Mine are set to 6500, 7000, 7500 which is how it came out of the factory.

Yep 7800 is about right I reckon. Think I have mine set at 5,6 & 7 also.... otherwise it lights up like a christmas tree so quickly, then bosh you are on the limiter, which I try to avoid because it scares the hell out me, feels like something has gone bang and pound signs flash before my eyes.

My 2002 Tam definitely had a rev limier - I hit 62 in first before it kicked in. You cant set the limiter in the LCD panel though, as that just controls the rev lights - oh God - gotta get another soon.......

62 in 1st?! Mine definitely wouldnt do that, I think it does about 80 in 2nd and about 115 in 3rd, is that normal or would that indicate I may have a close ratio box??

I had a close ratio gearbox fitted to mine - never seen what speed the limiter kicked in when in 2nd - too scared to look at the display!

I have a close ration gearbox. gets into the 60's in first... still no indication of any rev limiting going on though. at what point is this supposed to kick in? but up to the high 7000s and have never felt any indication of the car limiting itself. i would have thought a useful rev limiter would work when the oil is cold to avoid over reving until the engine is suitably warm.

The rev limiter lights work at a lower setting when cold on the sag.

Rev limiters can appear to cut in as high as 8250 on the 3,6.
