I gave A Plan insurance at the top of the page a call as my insurance is due at the end of the month. Have been getting quotes for my Tamora full comp & protected from £960.00 to £1500.00.
£680.00 not bad eh! No call centers in Bangalore and the lady at the other end of the line sounds cute to top it all.
I have given them a try, why dont you.

cheapest isn't always the best. Insurance cover is not always comparable. Unfortunately a lot of people find this out when they come to claim. Check the cover. Regards.

I've got a couple of cars with A-Plan. Are you speaking from experience of this particular company?

I had similar quotes of £620-680 for my Tamora with first alternative and bell.
Went with first alternative for about a year (£630) until I had a JP sports exhaust fitted.
When my insurance came up for renewal with first alternative, I informed them of the change of exhaust and they refused to renew my insurance. So then I went to Bell who insured my Tamora for £680 and was with them until I upgraded my engine from 3.6Ltr to 4.0Ltr. They did not insure upgrades or modifications to the car. So I got a refund from Bell for the remaining months of my insurance, and got new insurance with Adrain Flux. The new insurance cost me £930 and that covers me for all the modifications to the car, and I will get the money back spent on the upgrades if the car is a write off. I'm impressed with Adrain Flux and will continue to insure my Tamora with them.

These companies like Bell, A Plan are good cheap quotes, but if you do anything to your car then they tend to shy away.

TVR car club insurance scheme worked out great for me (695,- fully comp, despite written off CERB), they do mods, even track day cover and have a nice and friendly service as well- partner is Alliance of Cornhill which seems solid - well worth a try imhothumbup

Not at all, no experience of A-Plan. I was suggesting that when renewing insurance many people just go for the lowest premium. I always examine the cover and what will happen in the unfortunate circumstance that I have to claim. I've heard of some bad experiences when insuring through some budget high street insurers.

For reference I just renewed again with Allianz Cornhill with Mannings, £660 fully comp, unlimited miles + spouse. Very reasonable in my opinion.

Also be wary of those who say 'I always insure with XYZ, they are always cheaper'. This is rather naive. What they are forgetting is that different insurers have different views on their clients, what is best for one motorist may not be best for another. As always, lokk around, get at least three quotes and you will find an insurer that finds your individual/car profile more attractive than other insurers might. Recently one insurer specifically did not want to insure Tuscans due to the high claims incidence, but they were competitive on other cars. You can only find this out by shopping around, so I suggest check the following:

1. price
2. cover/insurer
3. find an insurer where your profile and particulars suit them

Have to agree with TheArb.

I work in the industry and claims are handled very differently by some companies with potentially high levels of repudiation the norm!

Saying that I am with Mannings!
