TVR & Road Tax - Bargin

just taxed my T350 Toady as it been on sorn for the last 12 months before i bought it (i know its right at the end of the month but i thought i had better get it sorted. ) what a result £180 what a bargin.

They even had to get 3 people to check it as they said it can't be right....well i have found 1 thing that is cheap on a TVR

Yes, they're classified as PLG

Because these cars were not type approve they get the general classification.
It also means (I think) that they don't have to meet such strict criteria for emissions in MOTs, so making de-catting a possibility.

It's only the top emitters that were first registered after 23/03/06 that will pay the top whack:-

Just checked my V5 too and my Tamora's a PLG and I paid £175 in December although this is going up to £180.

At some point uk.gov will probably extend this higher tax band and close the loopholes somehow - from 2001/2003 or whatever the current CO2 measuring start point is.

Realise this is an old topic, but I've just had the reminder through to tax my Tamora for another 12 months. £185. Amazing.

Friend with MZ4 is not impressed!!!!!
