Recently sold my car and looking for something fun to replace it with .... I've had a T350targa in the past so a Sagaris seemed a likely option. Other cars I'm considering include the BMW M3 CSL, Lotus Exige 240R Cup plus a couple of others.

If anyone is thinking of selling a likely car, not too many miles - no more than 10,000, then I would love to hear from you.

I know that prices are all over the shop at the moment so it's got to be good value - I've no intention of losing 5K in the next few months by paying too much now!

Cheers

my car has more than 10k, but its lovely by all other criteria. in fact, i dont see its mileage as anything other than a plus point. cars that are not driven dont appreciate it and repay you with roadside holidays much more often.

anyway, this is me: www.pistonheads.com/sales/158390.htm drop me a line if youre interested.

To be fair Nervy, if i was after a Sagaris then I’d certainly be knocking at your door.

I like the fact that you’re so meticulous and that comes across in the description.
Anyway, that’s enough of me kissing your arse

Love the car and have looked at it previously. Definitely one of my preferred colour choices....BUT...it has just too many miles for me. The main reason I sold my T350 was that the mileage was approaching 14K and I could envisage it being a little awkward to sell if I kept it much longer.

I think the perception is with these cars that when you get closer to 20K you're looking at engine work. Combined with the uncertain warranty position and it makes for a scenario of BIG bills.

If it was 10K miles less I would have bought it already

I have just bought a Sagaris and went on the condition of the car rather than mileage. Mine has 12k on it and was in far better condition than a 5k one and a couple of other lower mileage ones that I looked at. I don't think that miles are a problem on the later cars - there are quite a few T350's etc that are on 30k + miles with no probs.

A car that has been thrashed, not warmed up correctly on lower miles is going to potentially give you more problems than a looked after higher mileage one that has also had any niggles sorted.

Good luck with your search - you won't regret buying one - if you do.....cool

I accept what your saying but I'd still prefer a 10K car to a 20K car (all being equal!)

Pretty much stating the obvious I know!

i think the problem with this is, as ever, that what your trading on is, as you say, 'perception'. its rather ironic really as we all seem to spend a lot of time on this forum jumping up and down when people make crass, obvious comments about the reliability of the marque and yet here you are underlining and enforcing it, and your clearly an enthusiast. its little tiny seeds like this scattered around the place that go to forming the overall opinion of the marques integrity.

for me, if a car has done more miles, it means its been used, which means its been able to be used, which means its been reliable and usable, yknow, like a car. those with less or almost no miles (and some of these cars are what? 2k a year? meaning 20 miles a week?) simply make me worried. when I'm driving mine, it takes me at least 10 or so miles before its even beginning to be warmed up. do you honestly think those folks that are covering such small mileages are spending 25 minutes getting it warmed through sufficiently, just to turn around and drive back home again? I would imagine not. this is more likely to lead to massive bills than the unstressed, careful way i use my car.

not having a go, it just seems to me that were own worst enemy sometimes: if we want the marque to be taken seriously, and not be the butt of endless reliability jokes, we need to stand up and be counted, not buy the cars but not use them, in an impotent act of quiet defiance.

That looks fab, its a pity we are not in the market, I would have liked a sagaris but Fish went the lotus route again. Love the ad too, had any interest yet?

Thanks Fishy, it is fab

Ive had a ton of interest, but Ive been away for work almost constantly since I advertised and havent been able to accomodate anyone who wanted to view it. i couldnt have timed it worse, frankly grumpy

Ive got a chap coming sunday, so fingers crossed. theres simply nothing wrong with it, so i can think of no reason why he wouldnt buy it

The classic reason, the mileage is a bit on the high-side..more than he really wanted to pay etc. Neither warranted - good luck selling and replacing (the real breaker)

well, he knows the mileage and the price before he comes, its in the ad. so to come out just to state that will have wasted more of his time than mine.

Nervous...I think it's pretty much a fact (rightly or wrongly) that once the mileage starts to get into their late teens, these cars (T350, Tamora, Sagaris) become harder to sell and take a big hit in value.

As I change my cars quite frequently (usually every 6-12 months), the ease of re-sale is a big issue for me.

thats fair, as i said, i wasnt having a go.

Id like to think that Ive priced the car to take the mileage into account.

You can have mine for £100.000

Although I will want to keep my cuddly bull terrier toy that hangs in the back.

Seriously there are a few about and I can't see them getting much cheaper.
Go for it.
