Having been road-sided twice in 1 week due to an issue with the 100 amp fuse under the airbox; has anyone done a mod to bypass this?

What would be the issues if this was bypassed? I don't intent to sound ignorant, but surely life would be more pleasant and less stressful if this bugger didn't exist.......

Not sure on the implications but def. at get you home solution.

I did find some 12V 100A trip switches on the net. Not sure if they would cope with the heat and vibration.

So the question is, why did yours go twice? Must be a fault on the line or a bad fitment. Since it needs over 100A to blow I think I'd like some protection.

How about someone makes a mod to move this fuse to a more accessible location, then we can check them during the oil dipping sessions.

I'm not totally convinced it went twice. That is, it was the same fuse.
The first time it was suspected that the bottom connector was loose so this was tightened and gave correct voltage readings after.

The second time the fuse was definitely faulty as it had split near the bottom of the first joint, this occured just a few days later, it had had a rolling road session in between and even starting it up after this session you could instantly see a drop in voltage.

On the journey home it crept down and finally gave up around 9.9V! On inspection it had come apart on the bottom joint.

Has anyone here bypassed this fuse?

Do not by pass it or move it, but put some steel washers(not zinc plated)under the fuse nuts; what can happen is as the nuts are tightened the fuse starts to rotate and tear causing failure
Hope this helps
