Good for you Bumcrack. Luckily its not my ideal car or we'd be fighting over it and push the price up.
997s are very nice, proper interior - one thing that put me off 996s. However, I'd prefer an AM V8 with the Prodrive tuneup pack please. If one actually exists in a tasteful colour that isn't grey, siler or black.

Oh no no no. Looked at an Aston Vantage at dealers. Started up revved it revved again and blasted it round to me at front door. Dealer drove out on test drive in thrash mode for 5 minutes and then passed controls to me. I drove it as I would a TVR warmed it and then drove quickly. Dash rattled like shit handbrake warning came on and wouldnt shut off. Second gear clunky as hell. £75000 on 06 4000 miles.
Sorry Aston your dealer just made me realise why I dont want one.
Mechanical sympathy training required and sorting the cars out prior to sale would be a start.
As for the porker- anything less than a GT3 does not come close to a TVR - even a 911 Turbo is not in the same league.

That's what worries me. £40k more and no more reliable/better built. No faster either, even with the Prodrive kit, but I'm prepared to sacrifice that for the looks (outside at least).
I'll wait until they're 40k. There seem to be plenty for sale at the moment, lots of pretend rich-boys ending their leasing agreements... (main stealer network seems to be propping up the price IMO too).
I'm edging closer to my ideal car - my SL55 is superb, and I'm a dyed-in-the-wool ragtop man, so the folding roof gives me the best of both worlds. I would like it to be 400Kg lighter, and have a proper manual gearbox though. Perhaps an XK RR with 500bhp and a manual? 911 Turbo Cabriolet is to ugly.
