t350c service intervals
Discussion
i am looking into replacing my current steed with a tvr, preferrably a t350c.
can anyone let me know the service intervals for the vehicle and what to look insofar as stamps in the service book.
i'd be looking at a 2003 year in particular but have read on a number of occassions that later 2003 modela had the engines changes / upgrades although nothing specifc. can anyone enlighten me here aswell
many thanks

Service intervals tend to be 6k miles, with the 12k multiples being a "big" service. You will pay more at a TVR dealer, with prices around £500-600 for a 6K and £700-1000 for a 12k, depending on whether the tappets need adjusting. I can't comment on prices from independents. As far as the year goes, if you read some of the threads on the Speed Six forum, you will see that most problems tend to be with earlier cars and cars made from March 2005 had a 3-year warranty which supposedly, reflected the greater reliability. Generally speaking though, be aware that any properly used/serviced car should be a good bet, but also remember that if they go bang, it will cost you.
I've got a 05 T350C and I think it's fantastic, but my 3 year factory warranty with 14 months left has gone with the demise of the factory/marque etc. So, I have a contingency fund to cope with any problems.

iv had it confirmed that my 53 plate (sept 2003 registered) car has got the upgraded cams and followers etc which was part of problem with older engines, im onto 23k miles and its still fine.
try to buy as late a model as poss for build quality and one which has been used as they dont respond well to sitting around and being used occasionally. miles wise it doesn't really make no odds imho. if it wants to go bang it will.

Agree, kinda.
My '03 had a top end overhaul at TVR Power in late summer 05'. I would say its not 'as late a model as possible' thats paramount, but that if you buy an ealier model look for as late (certainly '05+) engine work as possible. Of course budget plays a part, doesn't it? You'll pick up an '03 in the trade for ca. 20k (less private) whereas I guess your facing 25k+ for a post '05. I decided on the former with engine work than the latter without.
Interiorwise a T350 is smaller than a CERBY in every respect- if you have like me a couple of pints attached to your tummy wall then you will feel more comfy in a CERB (as for the driving position) How you feel with the DRIVE is a different cup of tea (having owned both) - and that's what's it all about- isn't it. Do not part with your money b4 you drove all- and especially DRIVE the car again you want to buy (they are all different - eh characters
) and one T350 may be different totally to the next- very unlikely two TVRs look and behave alike- guess that's why we love them...

i should say that the 4dr saloon is an STi Prodrive wich performance wise is all that you could really ask for for everyday use and the odd track day, but and its a big BUT it isn't something that i look at and want to go hooting off into the wilds of ireland just for a spin.
with TVR i only have to see a picture and i'm off in daydream land
(its shamefully quiet for our irish tunnel runs aswell)
