Hi

Driving my Tamora home from work yesterday over some fairly bumpy roads I noticed a ratlle/shudder through the pedals and through the steering, aswell as a noticable 'clunky' noise from under the car. I didnt think much of it but then it was the same this morning so I thought I better get it checked out.

Took the car into my local mechanic who came out for a run and then had a dig about under the bonnet and reckons its due to an engine mount/engine mounts giving up the ghost.

I know this is a fairly common complaint with these cars and I plan to get it booked in with HexhamHC ASAP as the car under a warranty.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is it a big job to fix it?

Are there any other common faults that could result in similar symptoms?

Cheers folks

It's very common and takes a few hours to replace each one. Reckon on a £250-£350 bill.

Yep, mine too. £150 at Harrogate HC, last month. NOT covered on Motorplan (Prem +) warranty

Found an engine mount gone when looking for a rattle from the engine. It may have been gone for months but wasn't causing any trouble as they don't actually do that much. Replaced FOC in 45 minutes. Still got the rattle though!

the mount costs £50, i fitted it with the help of my friend and a ramp.(4 hour round trip to nearest dealer for me) were putting de-cats in at the time too so it made things easier having the cats out. took us 3 hours, under trays off and cats off easily enough but then moving the engine up enough to slide the mount in was not possible - unbolted the big metal bracket which connects the mount to the engine and advised to cut 3 threads off the studs to help it go in easier as there aint much space - its a .
