Fuel Sensor gone
Discussion
Have been getting the following error "Fuel Sensor" quite regularly recently but the car is running fine so I thought nothing of it. Anyway to cut a long story short I'm pretty sure the sensor is now totally stuffed as it varies from 167 litres of fuel to -26 litres. After a bit of a drive it seems okay though although not sure how accurate the reading is. I am taking the car to Le Mans this year so clearly want to avoid running out of pertrol. Is this an easy and inexpensive fix???

Do you get a hissing noise when you release the filler cap?
Mine was doing this a causing a vaccum in the tank, and the fuel gauge was reading full permantly, I unkinked the tank breather hose which runs over the near side wheel arch, undid the bolts to hold the sender/sensor in, moved it with a long wire coat hanger, and Robert is your Mothers brother, sorted

Nearest dealers are Fernies or RG both around an hour away, plus the labour charge means i`ll have a go to save time and money, Fancy getting to the Tamora meet on supercar Sunday at Gaydon on fathers day?

Used to get a hissing noise so now run the car with the fuel cap very slightly open to release the pressure otherwise the petrol fumes inside the car become unbearable on a long run out. Thanks for the advise. Not too sure I'm up to doing the job myself so will see how it is this weekend and then maybe take to to a dealer.
Thanks
