Well it had to happen didn't it! I'm off to France on Saturday and my dashpod has decided to pack up again, can anyone tell me if this sounds like a major problem with the pod or just a clitch? I drove the car a couple of miles and when I pulled up and opened the door the red and yellow lights came on and the screen display disappeared, now when I start the car up the pod lights are on together with the red & yellow lights and no display.

I haven't tried anything yet so if anyone can tell me the best thing to do first I would appreciate it otherwise it look like my trips off? Also this is a pod I bought last November from Bellshill as the other one packed up just before London Thunder.

Cheers guys for any help

Not sure if this is going to help, but:

My dash ECU was playing up showing low voltages and randomly resetting itself.

I ended up having to replace the 80A fuse in the passenger footwell as the one there was semi-fused.

After replacing the fuse, turned on the ignition and got the same as you with some beeps. Disconnected the Dash ECU and still the same. So I gave up.

Started the car next morning to go to work and it had fixed itself...rolleyes

With thanks Jeremy, I now have a spare dash ECU box and we are currently reverse engineering everything inside it to built a comprehensive picture of what the box takes in, shoves out, etc, etc. As a past sufferer of the dash pod issue and the not-so-great-repair-service available Ill let y'all know when we have a decent handle on the situation.

I have just taken my POD apart and have been playing with (and without) the LCD. If the LCD data ribbon cable is NOT connected, the POD lights will stay off and the red and yellow light will come on (the LCD naturally remains blank). So: Check the LCD connection.

To remove the dash just unscrew the two allen bolts from underneath the left and right hand side controls. Take the dash off, disconnect the cables from the controls and the POD (they are all different, you don't have to worry about where to put which one back). You might be able to see the data ribbon cable inside the POD connecting the LCD to the other parts (I hope I got the description right, the pictures are at home on the camera, like always rolleyes).

Hi,

My pod had the same type of issues last week. No display and the lights kind of worked at start-up but not as usual and no beeps.

It was a loose ribbon lead coming from the main ECU box in the floor pan. Check this area as well.

In my case there are 2 ribbon leads that run into this box, one was not connected (looks like a computer port type connection). I found a connector for this in the ECU box - reconnected and all was OK.

Try speaking to the guys at www.automedon.co.uk They are ex-TVR engineers and fixed my dashpod/ecu very quickly and efficiently. They can do it by mail order so you just send the pod/ecu rather than take the whole car to Blackpool. They were very reasonably priced as well.

Had the same with my Tuscan last week,i.e. blank screen cable connections all OK,after contacting TVR power I was informed Automedon can repair them.Douglas Valley www.douglasvalley.co.uk breakers do have a used one from a Tamora with only 700 miles on it, I was going to buy this one, but was reliably informed that there are sensor input differences between the Tuscan & other TVR's with the same dash .

Well, I had the pod out and attached the old pod and thats doing exactly the same thing, I presume this means its not the pod? Good news there then. I checked all the connections and unplugged the ECU and reconnected them and still all the same, I checked all the fuses while I was down there and nothing! Just can't for the life of me think of what else to do? Where abouts is the 80a fuse? I had a quick look in the passenger well but couldn't see anything?

Pull out the trim which goes from the back of passenger footwell to the front top - it's L shaped.

The fuse is held in a black cover with two large red wires either end.

There is nothing else you can do except have the ECU repaired, seems that the most likely problem is the CPU's which are in plug in bases which is not realy a good design given the location of the ECU.

Does anyone know if anyone sells 2nd hand ECU's (Bellshill?) so I can keep the car going while getting one repaired?

Once mine got going again it now shows at startup: System Fault 144: clock error

No idea how to fix that either. But the T350 is at Chis Neils being repair quoted dso I'll ask them tomorrow when I pop in.

There was a recent post about code 250 on here not so long ago.

Hmmm mine also has the 250 clock error code and the clock is permanently stuck on 44:98.....

Would be interested to hear of any resolutions to this..... (and the stuck RPM needle with a corresponding Tacho 0 error message)
