what was the car like at that speed?...
tell us more....
the car was fine, solid and very stable and felt like it wanted to keep going, i had used 4th till up past 150mph with still revs to go, then 165mph was the speed in fifth at about 5000-5500rpm iirc (was a while back so cant remember exactly), not much noise from the targa panels either tbh,
tell us more....i guess i should add it was standard at that point in time, never been anywhere near that speed since.
I have hit 145 in the Tamora and it felt much like the Star Ship Enterprise trying to crack warp 15 complete with shaking, grim faces, and a 50% chance of break up. Having the roof panel off and the road surface didn't help but it didn't feel particularly planted.
When I had a Cerbera (4.2) that felt rock solid at an indicated 175 which I guess is aerodynamics and possibly rim/tyre size.
In terms of the latter what are the experiences of those who have gone from 16" to 18" spiders and has anyone gone back?

Imteresting. Top down my Tamora felt rock solid and was still pulling hard at 265kph, but the roof trim started to lift off and I was beginning to approach other traffic so I slowed down. When I had a Cerbera (4.2) that felt rock solid at an indicated 175 which I guess is aerodynamics and possibly rim/tyre size.

i think there was also a previous T350 owner who managed a gps verified 189 mph in a red rose version on a cannonball rally, think his ph name was sacha, he had his own website with videos of the T350 also.
Seem to remember it was 178 - sounds close to realistic v-max as 5th with standard diff is too long-geared to reach peak bhp.

did 159mph in a lexus 430sc ....... the dullest expireance of my life ! felt like 20mph in the tam
its all relative.176 IIRC in the T350 was fine. Indicated 210 mph on a Suzuki Hyabusa on a downhill section of road seemed rock solid and not really scary at all, MrsS advised it was a pleasant experience so that confirmed my thoughts
.........................................................................................................................................................................................scary bit was trying to stop quickly with only a front brake
(rear wheel being airbourne after hard front brake application).Oh to be young and daft...instead of old and daft.
