I've tried alot so far and, well I'm not happy with my best quote to date. Can anyone recommend who to try for insurance in N. Ireland for a Sagaris?

I'm 30 with 8 (or 9?) years NCD. Seems to me that postcodes are a stinker, mine being the smelliest...

Any thoughts or people out there currently insured with a good deal???

Cheers
Ró

The post-code lottery in N.Ireland is madness..

For a distance of about 75 miles you go from about £680 for over £2000!!

Spoke to her already, but she is in Southern Ireland and the company she is with won't quote for Northern Ireland.

Boys, you need to look a bit harder, you will find that most insurance companies will now cover TVR's in N.Ireland.

But, you need to have clean book, with a bit of age on your side.

I have found that for myself a young 42 can insure any TVR model, old and new for under £700. Most of these do not cover track days, but AON will cover on limited miles do cover track days.

Join the TVRCC and get the full knowledge,

Try Higgins Insurance at Newtownabbey- possibly Portfolio Insurance to include cars and house. Speak to Gerry. Thats what most people with Grp 20 cars in NI do. Worth a try anyway.

Postcode lottery is crap! Direct line website - get this; My details with my postcode - £2,100, same details with a Belfast postcode - £700!!!!!!!!!!!! I live out in the sticks in the country, where ye won't see another person for a whole day sometimes!!!

There's a guy that owns a Car Wash place in Lisburn called 'Sure Clean'. He's owned 2 Tuscans, a T350c and has now worked his way up to a Sagaris as far as I know. I'd say he'd be a good person to speak to about TVR insurance in N.I.

Here's some details from his site:

Trevor McWatters
Union Bridge Roundabout, Queens Road, Lisburn.
028 9267 7719

good luck!

Insurance companies are such a nightmare sometimes, at least your looking in Ni because most of the time the republic will rip you off even more spectacularly!!! Let us know how you get on and any questions you have. This forum was a godsend when I was on the hunt! biggrin

Ronan,

My N.I. Sag is insured through Aon. Stipulation is that I own and insure another 'everyday' car and the Sag is on a limited mileage policy.

Had my Tuscan previoulsy insured with Heritage but they would not touch the Sag based on its value - though it will no doubt qualify now!

Both the above companies do not ask you about NCD and their policies do not accrue NCD. They take your details (not many), evaluate the risk and contact you with a price for a year.

Ask them about a policy that covers your 'collection' as well as they will cover a number of cars together so you could get your daily driver insured too. They didn't want to cover mine though.

Gary.
