bangheadhelp desperately required....Tam dash readout problems which seem to vary with voltage i;e switching things on and off vary's the readout for fuel guage, oil pressure, air temp etc. fitted a new battery yesterday and it made no difference. have tested alternator best i can and it seems ok. bad news is once or twice all has been working correctly only to go wrong again on re-starting the car. checked the fuses and links etc. one thing to note is dash readings fine with ignition on until i cancel immobiliser and the fuel and power steering pumps kick in, then the voltage obviously drops and the readings start going haywire. has any one of you guys ever had similar problems or any electrical knowledge? after 3 days checking everything i can think of i'm just about weeping tia phil

Not had anything like this, but spurious electics can often be either a bad earth (check battery earth cable especially - at both end), and perhaps check the ribbon cable connection from the ECU to the read of the dash pod. Might be worth removing the dash pod to check behind it.

cheers for fast reply, have got the dash pod out and ecu and have cleaned up all electrical connections and checked ribbon cables and all of the fuse box. i am really struggling with it now as it doesn't seem logical why starting the pumps to fuel and power steering should set the readings off wrong. they are definitely wrong as software from main ecu is right and everything working correctly i;e coolant fans etc...trying to find a very high brige within walking distance!!!!
