Just had service & shock leaking.

Dealer recommends pair of AVOs at £370 fitted or Bilsteins at £450 fitted. Any good?

The T350t has always been a bit jittery and unstable at speed ... had a leaky front shock and now a rear, might explain the handling?

Is it worth a full upgrade ... for only road use?

Off to Le Mans on Wednesday next ... so in a rush.

I based in Wiltshire if anyone has a specialist recommendation?

Thanks!

Take a look at this. http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I've now got new Bilsteins and new Eibach springs all round, much improved ride for the road. Save yourself some money by fitting them yourself. Mine was £730, all in - rear dampers/bushes alone would be under £300 diy - and you learn a bit, too. TVRPower will press the bushes in for you and if you're on good terms with a dealer they will probably put the springs on for a small donation to their xmas box. Otherwise a spring compressor is only about £25

Just had Nitrons fitted to my Tamora at Dulfords. They are great !!!!!!!

I recommend these if you are going to upgrade your shocks. The ride is smooth and road holding is excellent. It cost about £1200 in all because I had Eibach springs fitted to the nitrons.

Has anyone tried Bilsteins in direct comparison to any of the other brands? Are the Bilsteins, say OE, and the others more of an upgrade?

Thanks guys!

Regarding Bilsteins ... are they T350 specific and therefore non adjustable?
I liked the idea of the AVOs as they were adjustable.

Thanks again,

Tim

Yep, car specific. Question to ask, if as you say, they are for road rather than track why do you want them adjustable?

and buy some other goodies with the £450+ you'll save

Actually that seems a good price, given Nitrons without changing the springs seem to be £950 + vat retail

I guess covering all bases? The Bilstein ones won't be tweakable?! And we all like bling don't we?!!

I'm thinking of trying to replace the leaky shock with a second hand one to help me get to Le Mans and back, then go for an upgrade on my return? Anyone got one in the garage???!

Had a good chat with Neil Garner this morning ... seems a good guy ... anyone had experience of his place?

Shop keepers dream, you are ... hehe Me, I'm saving the £450 for when something (inevitably) goes bang moan

Which one(s) leaking. I have 2 original rear dampers/Eibach springs off my 03. They are fine, only removed to match the new fronts, one of which had been leaking.

It has "875" written on it, is red and has ring adjusters (passenger side).
The springs are white.
My 350 is a March 2004 model.

HTH!

Thanks!

I've got a full set of T350t springs and shocks of an 04 model lying in the garage, done 7.5k miles. Took them off when i had Nitrons fitted.

Nitrons not worth the extra dosh IMHO. The Saggy i have now has Bilstiens and is much improved over the T350t.
