I want to get my air con re-gassed tomorrow prior to my trip to Le Mans. I've spoken to my local garage and they need to know the weight of the gas required. Anyone got an idea? I've seen a few figures banded about but not a definite answer, it is probably something which could go on the FAQ.

Nick,

Although I do not know the answer to this, I did have my air con regassed recently at Raciing Green. Can I suggest the easiest thing to do would be phone them up or any other TVR dealer for that matter and get the figure from them....

Thanks Rob, that was my next port of call, just when I was thinking about it at silly o'clock this morning I didn't think there were any garages open wink I will post up here once I have been given the info.

I was told 650-750 for my Sag, don't know if the same unit is used in the T350

Doesn't it tell you the required weight on the sticker on the inner wing?

It might well do.. I haven't spotted it before though. If I recall there is a yellow sticker which may say something about air con, but I don't recall any weights on it. I'll have to have a look.

I just told my garage the weights and they say that the oil weight seems quite high. They recon the equipment they use tries to keep the oil in the system and just flushes out the gas so they only replace what actually comes out... or something like that.

Well I've just spent £100 on getting the air con re-gased and it all seems to be about the same as it was before hand frown

Is it possible that it needs a little more gas than 675g? Or am I just expecting a little too much from the air con??

I'm off to Le Mans first thing so I'll (hopefully) put it through its paces over the next few days.

just looked at my itemised bill for the regassing of my sagaris from racing green. part number R134A - gas perkg 1kg supplied @£18....... £100 seems a bit steep i have to say!
