Well, I collected it last Friday. I previosuly owned a Porsche 996 Carrera 4 Cab. My T350C is chameleon green and what can I say, the speed, power, looks & sound are AMAZING! I have already fitted a TVR Super Sports exhaust and the sound is amazing - it pops and bangs like a good un'.

I have a couple of questions if you could help me please->

1) How do you turn on the heated rear window?
2) How do you change the time on the LCD dashboard?
3) How often should I check the oil and water etc.. and what should I check?
4) What temperature should I let it get to before putting my foot down? I normally lt it warm up to 70 and keep the rev's below 3k.
5) I would like to upgrade the sound system as it's pretty poor at the moment. I only have two speakers in the boot. Please advise me of a decent speaker & head unit upgrade.

Thank you
Karl

You are'nt going to need a stereo with that sports exhaust to listen too!!! Reference the other points - warm the car up for at least 5mins/5 miles driving (more winter) and I used to check the oil on a weekly basis on my TVR, pretty much every time I washed it.

Thanks for the advice. What oil should I put in it? I was told not to use Mobil-1.

1) Bottom Right hand side of the steering wheel is a small area which has switches for the wing mirrors and also a button for the heated rear window
2) Press the two switches on the rear of the steering wheel at the same time to enter the settings mod
3) Depending how often you use the car i'd check these twice a week
4) High 70's/80's
5) Not sure. Im looking at the moment as well

On the oil front... best to give a quick call to the garage that last serviced it and find out what oil they put in it. Best to match oils where possible.

I've just called Henley about my T350, as mine needs some topping up too, and they told me they used a fully-synth 5w-40 also known as Mobil1.

3) Use a wooden spoon. Measure levels when full (assuming, of course it has come to you full), mark with indelible marker, viola

4) 70/80 is over cautious if you ask me. I keep to 2k until 50 degs, then engine note changes and away ...

Also, nothing wrong with Mobil 1

I feel another S6 failure coming on.

By limiting yourself to 2000 revs, you drop well below 1500 revs when you change gear - not a particularly good thing to do as it puts a big load on the engine at any temperature.

50 degrees is not hot enough for your oil to start and give it the berries as you suggest, but it's your engine. wink Neither is 5 miles or 5 minutes long enough to warm your car correctly before spirited driving.

Guys - YOU HAVE S6 ENGINES ! WARM THEM UP PROPERLY !!! The engine will be ok for a good thrash after 10 miles or so. Oil pressure should have 'normalised' before you start to give it revs.

So are you saying there's also a minimum rev you should be giving, as well as a maximum, before it gets to temp? Sorry, I'll be getting a S6 soon, so just want to be sure I understand! I had presumed that my granny-style would be fine for the first 10 mins or so.

Maybe. Usually no gear changes, though, just truddle along at 55-60mph (2/2.5k)up to 50deg and then ease it up from there. Interesting point about low rev gear changes, hadn't thought of that. Coming up 26k miles so ...

Labouring any engine puts a huge stress on the top end not just a sp6. You need to change gear so as it never drops below 2k rpm when hot or cold. It takes me a good 45 mins to get the engine/gearbox and diff oil up to operating temp. A good tip is to stop the car for 5 mins (get some fuel) before you are going to open it up as this gets the oils even hotter.

Changing gear at low revs and then accelerating gets a crescendo of metallic noise from underneath my car which I assume is something protesting at my pussy footing about. Accordingly always give it a reasonable dose of revs before changing up now.

If you have not got a CR Gearbox you will need to be hitting the 2800rpm area before changing up. Keep away fron traffic as well before its up to temp if you can..
