PROUD NEW SAGARIS OWNER!
Discussion
Collected my Sagaris yesterday and despite a couple of the usual TVR things coming to light during the 250 mile drive home I am chuffed to bits! I was also suprised at how comfortable the car was on a long motorway journey cruising very nicely with not excessive engine or road noise. One of the niggles is that the back window/hatch rattles on one side at 'higher' speeds. The passenger pulling down on the curved alloy hinge fixes the problem. It could also be related to the gas strut on that side - any ideas or knowledge of this would be appreciated.
The other little thing was that the black rubber seal around the bonnet has come unstuck at the end and was flapping in the wind. I have heard that later cars did not have this seal fitted so is it best to re-glue or remove totally?
The car is a 2005 model in red glow pearl with black leather and some red detailing. It is a Castle TVR car and is listed number 22 on the register on this site. I will forward a photo in due course (once I have spent a day polishing it up fully!!!). Just waiting for the roads to dry up now!

You can adjust the hatch by lifting or dropping the peg mounted on the window. This will probably sort the irritation.
The rubber is probably best removed. I persevered for an age, fitting new rubbers etc, but it's no worse for being removed. Fitted a peice of neoprene at the font and back (between the pegs) of the inspection bonnet and its a better fit than it was with the rubbers.
Hi - Congrats on the new purchase.
As a matter of interest - did you buy the car from Castle or somewhere else? I saw a Red Glow one for sale at Castle about 3 months ago that was orginally a demo car but not their demo I don't think - it had around 5k on the clock and was up for about £35k with black interior and red pipeing. Castle had bought the car from a BMW or Merc dealer as it was traded in by a Doctor with an Asian name from the Midlands area....

Thomas,
The curved hinge on the rear hatch may well have come loose, most likely from the body maybe from the
the glass,a tweak with an allen key will fix.
I removed the rubber from our bonnet but it locked odd (Midas halcyon) so i reglued it with Evostick
been fine for 18months! While i was about it i removed the washers from the top pins of the service
bonnet so they stick out more(use Thread lock when you replace them) other wise its possible to jerk
the whole thing out. Also make sure the main bonnet lower fastener factory mod' has been done.

My car was bought privately with 15k miles so not the one you refer to. It was sold new by Castle in July 05, then again to the second owner in June 06 from whom I bought the car.As a matter of interest - did you buy the car from Castle or somewhere else? My car has no rubber on the inspection bonnet, just the larger bonnet. The neoprene sounds a good idea on the inspection bonnet as I noticed a little bit of movement when driving at motorway speeds. When you removed the rubber strips did it leave a glue mark on the bodywork? If so, how did you get rid?

Enjoy the new car and you must let us know how it feels compared with the Porsche.
