T350 Engine Re-builds
Discussion
Hello all,
Having recently put my T350C 04 up for sale and subsequently doing a complete U turn and deciding that it would be the worst mistake of my life and taking it off sale I had a thought.
So there about 300-400 T350's out there from 03-06 apparently. How many of you have had rebuilds and at what age/milage/cost ?
Thought it might be a good one for people looking at buying and giving people some idea of what goes wrong, also anyone ever got 100,000 miles out of a T350 ever ? surely there must be one, surely ? No ok then, lol

I am probably responsible for one of the few offensive postings in this forum going in the direction it's gone.
I posted what I did earlier for what I believe was good reason - there is a complete forum relating to the engines!
Lets not get silly, start slagging and ultimately alienate owners who can benefit and ultimately offer help to others in the future.

Hello all, my first post here (although I have lurked for a while) so be gentle if you can.
I'm close to buying my first TVR (it will be a T350) and have read much of what has been posted on the SP6 engine failures/rebuild saga. Very informative and thanks to those who have posted useful info, advice and experiences.
I know some of you think it has 'been done to death' but to many of us who are new here the current and most recent threads on the reliability (or otherwise) of the engine are most useful and relevent to the cars we'll be buying. Please bare with us.
I have been a TVR fan and wannabe driver since I was about 7 years old (I lived on the same street as Haughins Northern TVR Centre as a kid) and all the negative stuff has not put me off wanting one. I just feel much better prepared for the big day when it arrives. As somebody on here once said "go into TVR ownership with your eyes and wallet wide open" - Sound advice it seems.

You will never regret owning a TVR.
Read all the views, and to be honest they have not really changed since I discovered Pistonheads before I bought my first TVR a few years back and buy as late as you can afford, there are some real bargains around. If you follow the well documented engine warming procedures and set aside some money or buy a warranty you will be fine.
I just got back from a bloody awefull day which started way to early and finished way to late. Five minutes after getting into the Tiv I was blipping the throttle and grinning like a nutter.
