1. The boot switch seems to have gone ultra sensitive and the boot opens with the slightest touch. How would I get the Tamora badge off to check out the switch?

2. How does the centre console cover come off?

Thanks in advance

Not sure about the boot switch but the centre console cover on my Tamora was just sat on until I added a couple of dabs of glue. If there are no screw heads at the lower front sides then I would say glue. A gentle prise may be in order!

1. Sorry no idea.
2. There are 2 screws at the front end, one left one right of the console. there is also a wing nut which you will find if you pull the ash tray out its behind there!. it pulls up and there is a metal guiding pin at the front, once that's done there is also a metal bar at the towards the back end of the console which holds it in, getting it out is not that much grief, putting it back in however required the patience of a saint, it took me 45 mins after I removed mine when I replaced the gators for the hardbreak and gearstick.

Hello ntel, boot switch pull carpet back in boot get a mirror off the boss you will see two nuts that hold the badge unit on just slacken off a the odd turn you will see the badge move out a little its on springs over the two studs, because glued on the back of badge are one or two rubber washers when pushing the badge these make contact with a button switch which when activated fires a solenoid which opens the boot.

Thanks for the help guys. Sounds as though it'll keep me busy tomorrow evening. Still, it'll keep me off the street and out of the pub eh.

Dots badge did seem to be on really tight. Nick and I were looking at it last weekend. Her switch is activated as soon as the badge flexes. All the others I've seen the whole badge moves in when you press it and then presses the button. Sounds like you can loosen the nuts SEN has mentioned to free the badge up.

My console just pops off. No screws on it.

Less than a few mins to fix buddy ... you will need extension & socket to get at the nuts

That shows TVR 'development'. They obviously decided that just sitting it on the centre mound on the early cars was not a secure enough fixing! wink
