Hi All

Just got caught in a downpour and, yes, I spun my T350: over a curb, blowing both rear tyres and giving a signpost a smack on the way! Sometimes I just want to shoot myself.

Anyway, I need to take the car to a body repairers. Its not drivable currently and so need to make a decision sharpish (i.e. tomorrow) about where to go. Clearly going to be an insurance claim, so any advice for TOP QUALITY repair? I remember a post previously that mentioned Motor-craft in Pudsey? But can't find it now. Also would appreciate opinions on Drivestyle HC in Harrogate, which is where I'm based. Others?

Thanks

As long as you are ok the rest can be fixed.

Yes, I'd heard they are 1st class. If they do recovery as well I shall certainly try them. Might be cheaper labour than HHC, too, which will no doubt please the insurer

Hi Martin!
Sorry to hear about this, i know exactly how it feels, especially when you love the car to bits!!
I also had a slide in the wet about 2 years ago and by the sounds of it had pretty much the same damage as you.
My repairs got done at Harrogate and they did an excellent job!
Recently had the front repaired (due to hitting a brick in the middle of the road) and resprayed (few big stone chips so needed doing anyway) and this was done by Automedon. Again, a first class job, and the colour match was spot on (and mines the same colour as yours by the looks of it).

So from my experience, i don't think you can go wrong with either of those suggestions. It might be worth finding out which place is least busy so they can turn it around quickly for you!

Good luck and chin up!!

Chris.

Martin,

So sorry to hear about your mishap - I'm gutted for you mate. Hope you get it sorted and back on the road soon. You're not T350C reg. 'T** XXX' I saw on the M60 this morning I hope.... I was admiring your 'Swordfish' paint job if that was you.

Apparently, a fellow PH-er 'gerbil' has set up a company called 'Surface and Design' - specialist performance motor body repairers. I believe gerbil was one of the expert paint guys from the TVR factory and has set up with a couple of ex-TVR Factory workers from the bodyshop, and they are just down the road from Bristol Avenue in Blackpool. I think they use the spray booths at the old factory in fact!!

I have no idea of the quality of their work first hand, but they are highly regarded on here and on the TVRCC forums, so give them a call. I'm sure they'll be able to do the quality job you wish for and require.

Contact details.... for use in office hours only of course....

Regards
Spike

Thanks, Spike.

No, it wasn't me on the M60 ... I only made it as far as Leeds!

It may be a bit of a trek for you, but if you are worried about getting it done 'right' and would rather travel to ensure you get it done properly, I can fully recommend these chaps;

http://www.rmcbodyworks.co.uk/

Also if you have hit something side on in the rear I wouldn't drive it. A tankslapper in a T350 can cause lots of invisible damage to the untrained eye. Take it from somebody who knows. If you have RAC or AA cover then you are covered to be towed to a garage.

I've used HHC in Harrogate for many years and have always been happy with their work both from a repair and servicing point of view.
Although they're now Drivestyle HC the service side doesn't seem to have changed at all.

Thanks to All for sympathy/help/advice clapclap

Car gone to Drivestyle HC. Straightforward repair inc new door, so looked worse - well it would when its your P&J wouldn't it - than it actually was.

Cheers beer
