Not wishing to be negative, but I've driven one of the press R8's and seriously if it was my decision I would keep the Sag, get a new RS4 and still have some change in my pocket.

I raced an R8 down a disused runway against my RS4 and there was nothing in it - literally a couple of inches. They have the same engine anyway, although the engine management is slightly differen't on the R8 hence why it has about 10 bhp more than the RS4.

If you really have your heart set on an R8, wait and get the V10 - which will have the same engine as the Gallardo in it. That's the one to get thumbup

Ek not such a good review at all! I'm not a fan myself and i do like audi alot. I just think it looks like a butched up tt. I find audi unable to really come up with any new style at all for any of their cars which is a shame frown

From photographs I wasn't overly impressed with the R8 but on seeing one in the flesh I have to say it's a stunner. In a straight line I don't see why it would or should be any faster or slower than an RS4 (although the bhp they produce can vary dramatically - apparently!). I have to say, if I had £76k (basic manual) then if it was offered I would grab it.

As it stands I'm hoping it may be closer to £40K in 2 or 3 years time.

Guys, just got back from giving the R8 a blast down the A3 from wimbledon...it was excellent, very responsive! The photo's don't do the car justice...it's a lot better actually seeing the car and driving it of course.

If i had plenty of cash to throw around i would order one today - but i still would NOT sell the Sagaris! The R8's handling is excellent, and it also gives you that Grin on your face when you hammer the pedal and feel the G force push you back into the seat. The tone of the engine is very soothing yet,it's got a great sound at about 7 thousand rev's!

It's a great car, but when it come's to value for money! My Sagaris is way ahead - and it's also a close match on preformance..But the R8's 4 wheel drive is something very different, it just pull's from the minute your foot hit's that pedal and the handling is brilliant.

I would love to meet a fellow R8 owner on the road with my Sag and give it blast...so far it's the only other car i would consider going for, it's got that crazy feel of speed and look that stands out amongst the rest.

But that's my opinion - normally when you test drive an outstanding car, when you get back into yours it all feel's kinda boring and slow etc...i didn't feel this at all when i got back into the Sagaris..i felt that smeark on my face appear..thinking to myself nice try Audi,my Sag's just got something that make's the car that bit more special.
