Tamora Parts availability and general advice
Discussion
Hi all, I am thinking of returning to the TVR fold and fancy a Tamora. I am fairly up to speed on the speed six debate and don't want to kick off world war three on here but I am a little concerened about parts availability. I would be looking at an 04 car or later, in the event of the odd bit failing or falling off will I have to wait months for replacement parts?
Secondly, is it worth considering putting some form of warranty on the car (I will be buying privately) if so anyone got any recomendations I was maybe thinking TVR Power?
Thirdly, In the highly unlikey event of my speed six engine letting go
what sort of ballpark figure would be required to rebuild it assuming I keep it to a standard spec (if such a thing exisits)
Finally, if anyone is thinking of selling thier Tam drop me a message through my profile.
Thanks for your help

Not necessarily, some parts are a bit tricky but most parts available with a bit of ringing around. Apparently parts supply will now start getting better as TVR have signed up with multipart.T5GRF said:

Definitely. I think a lot of people use Autoprotect - whether this is the same as TVR Power I don't know. Having said that, TVR Power are reputable, so I doubt they would get it underwritten by anyone shifty anyway.T5GRF said:

Probably £4-5k, but if you've got the warranty you don't need to worry. The later speed six engines are not that bad IMO. Just make sure the oil is nice and warm before you give it some stick.

Yes - it's interesting to hear the banter at the dealers.
Obviously they have a vested interest in keeping up sales to potential buyers of the few remaining new cars and the used collection.
However, I do wonder if they're sometimes a little quick to pass on deals that are 'in the pipeline'.
I'll put my hat back in the wardrobe for now.

RG seemed to have some news regarding warranties. Worth asking Martin.

Is this new news in relation to the TVR warranties (I won't hold my breath) or after market ones?Bert
I think the position on TVR warranties is unchanged. In theory still there, but noone doing any warranty work.
