Checked fluid levels in the drivers footwell towards the back above the footwell?
I have seen on prevoius posts costs for replacement about 500 + labour

clever-trevor web site lists one below for just over 300. would just then need to get it fited at an indy. no idea on how much a dealer would charge.

He will also find it easier if he outs it into 5th before selecting reverse.

My Tam is exactly the same. Put it into 5th then reverse, works fine for me. Something technical like no synchro mesh (whatever that is) in reverse confused

Apparently there is no syncro on reverse, so by putting it into 5th first you open it up, letting you pop into reverse without grinding your way in and ruining your cool image at the pubwink
