Everyone is different when it comes to comfort/causes of back pain - what is fine for others may not be fine for you. So for instance just because I can drive 500 miles in a day and not have any aches whatsoever, it doesn't mean everyone else can.

Done lots of long journeys in last 5 months ownership. Can be a bit tiring but not noticed back ache particularly. Have you got the seat much more reclined than perhaps you would normally due to headroom?? I've got a thinner seat pad so I can get as normal(for me) a position as possible.

I'm sure the missus will rub something on it for you (your back not the seat!) smile

I get the same if I've not adjusted the seat properly. If I move it so that I'm sitting square on, and both legs can be positioned so that I'm not twisting the lower spine at all, I'm fine. That's why passengers generally don't experience problems - they aren't having to apply uneven pressure with their legs to work the pedals.

I did a total of 4.5 hours driving home from the Rock and I was absolutely fine, but on other occasions I've had terrible grief.

Oh, and make sure that you don't have anything in your back pockets as that can throw the spine out.

All in my experience of course; hope that makes sense.

Used to get lower back discomfort in my 2002 Tamora after about 2 hrs at the wheel and ended up buying some sparco lumber support cushions from DT to use on long trips. The Sag seat seems to have much more stuffing in the lumbar region of the seat and I have driven 4 hrs with no problem.

The simple solutions are so often the best.
I changed to a smaller, softer wallet which I could fit in my front pocket while driving.

Still forget sometimes and ....... [drumroll] ....... its a real pain in the @rse!!

Any seat with poor lumbar support gives me backache. My GTO has electrically adjustable lumbar support. My previous car didn't so I grovelled behind and stuffed a small cushion up inside the backrest. Might be worth a try.
