Pods and wheels...
Discussion
Two issues to add to my list of problems and niggles........
1) My digital display is playing up. It seems to be fine on start up when everything is cold. But after running for a while the display on all screens breaks up and becomes unreadable, apart from the one with the graphs. In my niave little brain, it seems that it could be a temperature problem and the display won't work if it isn't cooled down properly, so could it be that the cooling fan has gone rather than the LCD unit? Or is it a symptom of pod FUBARness that they do this? If the former, is it an easyish fix?
2) So far I've three instances of flattening the spiders; one due to a definite pot hole situation, the other two are anyone's bloody guess as there doesn't appear to be any other rim damage. So despite really liking the look of my wheels, especially in anthracite, I'm going to have to swap them. The amount of mileage I do, and the varied road surfaces means I'm just going to be throwing money away getting them fixed (I know - still some argument about whether or not that is a good idea!). Looking at the SP12 wheels which I rather like in anthracite, but does anyone know if there are any good wheels out there that look like spiders but without the softness issue? Oh, and what are the general thoughts on going from 235 on the back to 265?
All contributions etc etc.
PS Wasn't the Rock good? A bit expensive all told, but a bloody fine time, what-what?

ACT Performance have some good looking alloys and in anthracite at about £250 per corner. Daftlad posted a pic of some on one thread or another. Personally I think the SP12s suit Cerb/Tam but not t350s. Hollowpockets is being the guinea pig for these, so lets see.
ps - if your antracite spiders are still good I'd be interested if you do go for an after market model

I'll have a look at ACT. Two of the wheels look perfect (haven't seen inside the rims), the other two repairable as the damage is not bad. As long as you are of the school of thought that if done properly repairs are OK I'll let you know when I change themps - if your antracite spiders are still good I'd be interested if you do go for an after market model

After about 15minutes, a fan should come on - sounds like a faint whining noise from behind the pod. Can you hear it? If not, might not be coming so could be your problem with the pod.
Yeah, I'm sure that it was making a discernable noise; then it seemed to get louder over a period of time, but pretty sure it's not on now.Daftlad said:
Hi Lee,
The S is a nice old thing and 30 next year.
Wheels - around 8kgs each.
Enjoyed Rockingham and nice to see the first and last Tamoras together! (see you nicked our promised spot on the time-line too
)
8kg? Notice the difference in weight? The S is a nice old thing and 30 next year.

MrsS was supposed to be on the timeline but finished up in the star cars.
She wasn't too dissapointed I don't think, just glad to be part of the World record attempt in her car.Not so sure she was so content with my drifting her Tamora around the track - a wonderfull little car.

Anthracite SP12s look great on a T350. Even better in the flesh.
At less than £250 a corner IMO they are a bargain.

Yes, the Tamora is so damned good at everything I use it for. I know someone who is thinking of selling his Sag to get adifferent toy, but will keep his missus' Tamora because it's so good.
After the eventual engine job it'll be up to Sagaris levels of quickness too, so maybe the best of both worlds.
Wasn't aware of the star cars; I was a bit of a tourist of life last weekend! A couple of stressful weeks at work and I was just drifting (although not on the track!).
Yep, the SP12s do look good but I think the John's look better; sadly, with money to be spent on exhaust, de-cat pipes, a replacement pod LCD and at some stage an engine re-build and upgrade I don't know if I can justify the extra money. SP12s are about £850 for 4, inc VAT and fitting. Need two new rear tyres so these will effectively come free with the SP12s vs the ACT wheels......
BTW any thoughts on upping the rear tyres to 265? Better in the dry, much worse in the wet and/or snow?

Not sure on tyre widths. I'm happy with the standrad tyre widths on Tamora nd Sagaris.....tyre type, now thats another story. I do like my R888s After the eventual engine job it'll be up to Sagaris levels of quickness too, so maybe the best of both worlds.
