Can't get the top off; help and advice please?
Discussion
Can't get the top off the expansion tank to check the coolant levels, hoever much I try (and swear at it!).
Looks like it was tightened too much at the service as I had trouble with the oil filler too.
The engine is cold, having been staning overnight; any suggestions as to how I might be able to check/top up the levels, or a strategy for getting the bloody top off? Thought about driving the car for a mile to see if warming it up might loosen the led, much the same as running hot water over a jam jar.
Help!
Edited because I'm a tw@t.
Alarm over. I'm stupid, my wife is wonderful. "Why don't you try the thing for removing tight jar lids?"; "Nah, never work....". It worked.

Definitely change it when you eventually get it off. Try an oil filter removal strap or both hands when its warm (loosen slightly, watch for pressure).
Mine got overtightened and cracked internally. One 2 hour rest stop at a petrol station in Oxfordshire on a hot Sunday afternoon and a nice AA man later, plus radiator bleed and I was on my way.
