Have encountered a small problem trying to fit the Pioneer DEH-P6900IB to my new Tamora.

The 'radio' has the fairly standard construction of main unit, removable face and rectangular surrounding plastic trim which clips onto the main unit. See below...

The unit slides in OK - a snug fit between the semi-oval ali bits of fascia which bear the window / door buttons. However, the trim won't clip on because horizontally its a bit longer and won't fit in the recess between these ali panels.

Anyone got any ideas for a solution?

At present it seem I have a choice of:
(1) letting the radio stick out 1/2 inch
(2) taking a file to the ends of the plastic trim!

{NB: the old cd/radio which also had some trim fitted fine - presumably it was a little smaller - can't tell now as gone with old car]

BTW, I note there is a thread on the Pioneer ipod adaptor at present. This unit has integral ipod control via the wheel which is excellent. Also the Tamora has the prefect place to put the ipod by the cigar lighter.

If I could fit it in, I would highly recommend this unit!

Thanks in advance.

Jev.

I had mine out a few weeks back, standard factory fit one.

I noticed they had filed the sides of the plastic surround to make it fit.

So, do a proper factory job and get the file out.

Thanks for the prompt response Fairclp.

Guess I should have kept my factory mod trim!

I presume the logic is that the weight reduction improves performance wink
