TVR and traction control
Discussion
Have just been going through the archives and came across a thread that made reference to a sagaris with traction control.
I have no idea whatsoever that TVR offered this? I was under the impression that they never bother with driver aids and their policy has always been (as Clarkson put it): "Don't crash then..."
For my edification, is traction control an option? Or is this an after market option?
If so, from who/where/how much/any good?
Lastly, if that thread was a wind-up, joke is on me for falling for it!

not standard nor a factory options...could have been Racelogic aftermarket...which is about £800 if you go for the full set-up....BUT as you dont have ABS then theres a lot of labour involved in rigging up wheel speed sensors...I wouldnt expect much change from £2K if you have to pay someone to fit it
Met a German gent at Rockingham with Racelogic traction control on his Cerb. The RL website shows that with a bit of fabrication it can be fitted to most things. Looking at the wiring, it appeared to work in series with the injectors, simply cutting fuel when necessary to regain traction (iirc there are notes about how it works on the site). It allows you to dial in how much slip you wanted - 0-20%. I doubt it is a cheap or simple job, but this chap said the RL system was excellent and was very smooth in operation.

TVR are planning to fit TC to the 'new' models (when porcine control have landed their craft I expect).
Some individuals have fitted TC systems. Racelogic being the most popular.
I fitted it to a Griffith 500 with adjustable slip, launch control and full throttle shift and not forgetting a very important 'off' button. The system was absolutely awesome and I will be doing the same to the Tuscan soon.

Posts on here as Sportie. I understand it's racelogic traction control and is after market.I have no idea whatsoever that TVR offered this? I was under the impression that they never bother with driver aids and their policy has always been (as Clarkson put it): "Don't crash then..."

I recall looking at a Sagaris in a showroom a few months ago and it had a little button on the centre console near the gear stick. Would this have been the switch for an aftermarket traction control device?
doubtful - the Racelogic system either comes with a knob, or an aluminium controller/display unit as its fully adjustable www.racelogic.comIntegrating it into a car could result in just a button for on and off. Whether it is connected to anything is another matter.
The Racelogic stuff needs to be set-up carefully and I can't see TVR being that diligent if I'm honest, but then again who knows under the new regime of perfect cars from the new factory.

AdvocatusDiaboli - when do you plan to get that Bentley restored? Beautiful old cars!
Its FINALLY in motion! The engine has been started... It fired twice without any problems and then we had 8 foot high flames. Luckily no damage to car, though someone present got very singed... I reckon it will be easier to restore than the Lancia was. That took the best part of 12 years (3 years of it being really full on...)I am heading down to check on progress next week! Can't wait to get the goggles and head down some A's and B's!
