I have a pretty impressive stone chip (more like a hole) in the plastic headlight cover. I have bought the part but was wondering how easy it would be to fit myself. Anyone got any idea of the best way to remove the cover and what to use to glue the new cover down with?

I'm doing just that job tonight - thankfully my cover's still in one piece though. i just thought the old sealant looked a bit tatty.

The stuff to use to reseal the cover back on is Sikaflex 221 (£10 from Brown Brothers motor factors). You'll also need an applicator gun (B&Q etc).

Be careful when removing it as I hear its easy to peel the paint off. I guess I was lucky when I took mine off it was straightforward enough.

Best of luck.......
Neil

Hi Luke,

Is yours the Blue Tamora with the hole in the headlamp cover parked in Maida Vale? (There can't be many Tams around with this affliction)

If so, Hello smile

Mine was the Red Chimaera, but is now the Venezian blue Tam generally parked in Ashworth Rd (by the Synagogue). (You may not have spotted it yet.) Experience (and bills for wing repairs) has taught me not to park at the end of Lauderdale where I live!

Back on topic, I read a thread on this only a day or so ago but can't easily find it. Will try my 'history'.

Jev.

Hi Jev,

I walked by your Tam on Friday night, to be honest I thought it was dark green but I had had a bottle of Wine. Congrats on the new motor, i had a little look at it and was tempted to leave a note for you.
I have a little nick on the wing from parking in Lauderdale, but i guess that's London for you. I live on Warrington Crescent 2 doors down from the pub and I ground the front end on a the last speed bump on a fairly regular basis.
I noticed you had some sports exhaust thing going on, I would love to listen to her as I'm thinking of getting the upgrade myself.
All the best

No problem.

The sport exhaust is a little..... noisy biggrin

I'm about 20 yards the other side of the Warrington so its a pretty obvious venue for beer Or could drive out to one of the Middx TVRCC meets (my bro is RO) as will need warming up first.

Off touring Scotland from tomorrow so will get in touch to demo the exhaust when I get back.

Richard (aka Jev).

A beer at the Warrington sounds like a good idea and I'd been very keen on going to a meet (i've never been to one before). I'm of to New York on Friday and I'm away for a week but let's meet up when i'm back.
p.s keep an eye on the car for me whilst I'm away

What tour is that down devon then? Is it an organised TVR tour or you just going away for the weekend?

Car looks sweet by the way!
