With reference to a TVR T350 could I get a couple of answers here from the great and good?

(1) I am looking at a 2003 car which had an engine rebuild in 2006. Is this any reason to worry?

(2) Can anyone recommend an expert who can check the car for me and suggest the right price to pay?

(3) The car has a comprehensive TVR Gold + Wear and Tear option in place until April 2008 - is this actually worth the paper it is written on, given the situation with TVR? Worth an increase in price?

(4) I am very impressed by the EPROM upgrade recently discussed? Does it come recommended by any T350 owners here?

(5) Car will be the daily drive - is heating and air conditioning up to life in London? Also, is the ground clearance any better than a Sagaris practically speaking?

Sorry for the edit but no ads in the forums.

1. Engine rebuild is a good thing. As long as its been well run in since. Should be quieter than an early car (less clattery).

2. A good indie dealer who knows Speed Sixes. Pay for an hours labour.

3. Warranty is good if its the aftermarket Autoprotect one. Paid for lots on my car last year. Yes, the car is worth more with it IMO.

4. Wait and see if you need it. Your engine is recent, it might run sweet as anything.

5. Aircon works fine if its set up right and isn't leaking. Should be ice cold, but only comes out of the chest-level vents. Cooling system should be fine too, again if in good nick. Ground clearance is OK so long as you slow right down for bumps.

944 Turbo cab - nice car. My brother wil give you £2k for it.

Just for 2:

Living in Germany (suppose, that's what Germans do) it would have meant long (and maybe time wasting) trips to look at cars. After finding a car matching my preferences, I asked Rob Ingleby (http://www.findasportscar.co.uk/ ) to have the car inspected for me. In my (and the seller's) opinion, he did a good and thorough inspection. He produced a four page report with a final advice on the price to pay.

I take it this thread is referring to this T350...

Looks like a good one, I'm hopefully viewing next week. Is £19k a good price?

If it has had an engine rebuild correctly done on an early car to 05/06 spec then surely it should have had the additional dashpot fitted front offside of engine. Only guessing which car your looking at.

Dashpot?

Can you tell that from the photos?

I guess he means the extra coolant tank, fitted in '05 and retro-fitted to a few.

My '04 hasn't got this, cooling fine on road even in a hot Summer rolleyes

but marginal on track, esp when I left the a/c on aswell...

Seems odd that the engine mounts or clutch were not done whilst the engine was out. Who done the rebuild ?

Makes you wonder what else has not been done..
