Just have to try a Ferrari old boy. But who knows I can always return to the SAG, I mean what a car this has been!!!
I have to ask - which Ferrari? I've had a 328, a 355 and 360 - nowadays have a Sag for blasts and sheer infatuation-ness, a 996TT for everyday "sensible" use and a Ducati for when I need to realise that life is only a short experience. If my opinion may be of use to you let me know.
Joe, just reading back I see it's the 360 you're looking at. Now, it could be that you have a good cashflow and you just get bored quickly, if so, I relate to that. I'm an old geezer now (45) and I bought my first "proper" car in 1990 (Audi ur Quattro in case you were wondering). I've had around 40 "proper" cars since - including a 360F1 paddle jobbie.
Nothing, and I mean nothing bar the brief relationship I had with a Countach QV, has had the same (positive) effect on people as my Sag, and at my age driving a Countach now would just make me look like a tw@t. The 360 is Ferrari's best selling car to date with thousands having been made (don't know the exact number). By contrast there are roughly 150 Sags on the entire planet (I think less). If you just want to move on because that's where you're at, at this point in your life then nothing is going to stop you but I can tell you that for the first few weeks you will think the 360 is the best thing that's ever happened to you. You will absolutely love it. In the 5th week you will start to realise that it's actualy a bit artificial, the initial pointiness of the steering is an illusion when you press on, the awesome exhaust bark over 4K at full throttle is as contrived as the EQ on your iPod, that it understeers like a drunk being pushed out of a nightclub only to suddenly decide it either wants to swap ends or the traction control brakes all four wheels for you. In a nutshell, you'll be selling it again within 3 months - that's why there are so many on the market.
People will also think you are a tw@t - or a drug dealer, or both, actually there is no difference is there? To cap it all, every time you take it to the authorised Ferrari Service Centre someone will pursuade you to part with a couple of grand, you won't know why, you'll just remember that it was the only sensible thing to do at the time.
If you've got serious spare dosh, keep the Sag and go buy something to add to your collection, if you absolutely have to have a Ferrari then wait until you can afford a 430 or go buy a 550 with Fiorano handling pack while they are still available at the current price - don't do a 360 unless your only priority is pose value - or get a Challenge Stradale.

Jappo your killing me man but I can fully understand what your saying. Its hard to move on from a SAG and Ive had 2 enquiries from 360 owners within 1 hour of putting the add on. Check this one out, what dya think? -

I think if you must have a Ferrari then get a 550 with Fiorano and sports exhaust rather than a 360 - drive both before you decide. Hmmm wonder why you've already had 360 owners coming to you?http://www.avantgardecars.co.uk/view.asp?ID=182

I think you are making the wrong decision. Have you looked into the running costs for a Ferrari, servicing, cost of new clutch, cam belt change etc. It's alot more expensive than running a Sag.Jappo said:

Completely agree with Jappo re. Ferrari ownership.
Me too...he should been at Croft using his Sag yesterday, that would have changed his mind about ownership. Twas like a Sag owners day

This track day had a noticable TVR absentee - Y18TVR...you was missed.
my guess is jo5eph probably paid no more than £35k for it so has had a bit of fun for peanuts and is looking to get his money back and put it into something he thinks won't depreciate too badly. He's in for a shock though. Not only is the 360 pants compared to a Sagaris to drive (of course just in my opinion) but it'll drop like a stone. Look at 355 prices these days. I think the 360 is the all time best selling ferrari so there are loads around. Each to their own though. Looks like a nice Sag. There should be quite a few people who've discovered the ferrari cars don't live up to the hype out there who might want to swap to a car that really is exciting!
