Can anyone help with this problem? The driver's door doesn't open first time, I have to keep pressing the button several times before it unlocks the door, it makes the right noise just doesn't make the click and spring the door open. I have just swapped the control box over with the passenger door (that works fine) and the drivers door still won't work, I can only assume there is something in the door catch that isn't quite catching? Has anyone had any experience of this part? I don't want to start unbolting the catch without knowing what I'm in for?

I had that same problem, did nothing but now it works fine. Would be interested to hear if there is something i should do if it happens again.

Mines always done it since I've had it, about nearly two years now.

Incidentally Luke, has your Dad got a place in Spain?

Mine opens on the second push and my partner's Ford KA boot release is the same, apparently they are the same/similar part!

I've got the same problem, and the guys at Track V Road have swapped lots of bits, not making any difference. I find if you pcuh the button very quickly after stopping the engine it nearly always works first time.

On the outside, tend to push the button quickly and very firmly, but still have to stand there like a lemon for 10-15 secs (which seems like an age) before the mechanism 'achieves' it's objective and opens the door.

Everyone looks asking 'Why doesn't that guy get in his car? He's paid for his petrol and it's raining!'....

Only one press on the button is actually required - you can hear the mechanism constantly trying to release the door... inconvenient but obviously a difficult fix - the electric motor and/or its connections at the door catch is my TOP suspect!!

Anyone tried WD40, quick squirt can work wonders in the mechanism. Might stop it sticking, otherwise, quote: you could be in the stickiest situation since sticky the stick insect got stuck on a sticky bunhehe

Had something a little similiar turned out to be the small micro switch that needed opening out which sits behind the locking mechanism plate.

Is it near Denia? My Mum & Dad have a place there and Dad thought he saw him in the supermarket a while back?

Mine has this problem, the dealer reckons its a faulty window position sensor. They have been trying to locate a new one for a month with no joy.
Luckily its the passenger door.
