Hi everyone,

I'm hoping to pick up my Rosso Pearl Tam end of next week - can't wait (got to sell the Chim 400 to make space unfortunately) so as a newcomer to the Tamora, excuse the basic question.

Do you folks keep the battery in condition with an accumate like wot I do with the Chim? (ie plugged in through the fag lighter socket) - or is the Tamora a bit more sophisticated than that?

Thanks,
Neville

I have an Accumate that I always use for my T350, plugged in via the cigarette lighter, it just gives me a little more confidence that it should start if I have not had the opportunity to drive it for a while. Generally, without the Accumate, after being left on the rare occasion for between 10-14 days, it did not want to start.

I used the same Accumate I used for years with my Chimaera. Works just fine. Worthwhile if you don't use the car regularly, probably not if you use it at least once a week.

I keep my battery topped up with a battery conditioner connected via a flying lead in the passenger footwell - I assume your Tamora will have this flying lead.

I too used one on my Chim and now on my Tamora. Only difference, the Tamora was fitted with the Accumate in the boot, already wired up, so I just have to take the 240v plug out of the boot and plug it in. Easier I would suggest, than plugging into the ciggy lighter.

The only thing with these devices is that they can keep a dodgy battery going and the first time you find out is when you are away from home.

Had this on the Tuscan and the breakdown guy warned me that I should get the battery drop tested when the car is serviced as the trickle chargers hide defects.

Use one on the Noble still though.

Leven or any TVR specialist should be able to sell you an Accumate or equivalent, you might even get one cheaper on ebay! As far as the cigarette lighter goes, no rewiring was needed for my T350, just using the right leads.

Cheers

Good idea. However, if your car is parked on the drive rather than in the garage, I'd recommend that you only the charger at night, to avoid it getting nicked silly

I dont have anything on mine at the moment.

I leave it from Sunday night to Friday night and as far as i can see the battery level sits at 13.7v whenever i start her up.

Would i be wise getting a trickle charger thing?
Or is only leaving her that length time not too bad?

Cheers.
