Hi all, picked up a 54 ref Midas Halcyon Tam in September and so far really enjoying the car.

Has anyone recently had a nose and bonnet repaint and perhaps Armourfend type treatment afterwards? I would be interested to know what I should expect to pay for the paint and armourfend and perhaps a recomendation for a local bodyshop in Herts?

Cheers

Hope you are enjoying the car..

I have armourfend on my Tam, had from new and would recomend it. Think I paid about £250 for a full body kit, and I mean full, boot lid, wing mirrors the lot. Twas 2 years ago, so might be wrong with the amount. Not a stone chip in sight, well except for the one that just missed the amourfend, doh..

Paintshield is the product you want, was approved by TVR.

I had my front end resprayed on my Tam, cost £900.00. The full paintshield kit is about £500.00, think the front only is about £350.00. Speak to Tom at above address.

Thanks for the information, do they only fit the product at their premises or will they travel to fit it perhaps at the bodyshop or at home?

Price is a bit out of date, I think. More like ca. £1k + for full kit to A pillars, £600 for 'mid' (i.e. up to bonnet edge) and £400 for nose + bumper.

Stay away from Armourfend - it yellows and takes paint off when removed.

I understand that armourfend is not good over time - as discussed with Gerbil, the god of paint, only last Sunday. He did recommend another, similar product but I can't remember its name.

I suggest contacting Gerbil for advice.

I recently had Paintshield fitted to my Tamora. Front end and wing mirrors which cost me £528.

Living in the Midlands the local rep lived just south of Worcester. Contact him through the Paintshiel website. He came to my workplace to fit it. Nice guy and has done a great job.
