What are these sagaris seats worth?

I just aquired some Sagaris seats,which i thought might be nice for the griff,however the wife,despite having seen pics of them beforehand,has now decided she doesn't like them in the griff,as they look too 'modern and futuristic'.I could persevere and ignore her,but it probably wouldn't be worth it in the long run!As i bought these seats along with other items i'm not sure of their true value,so i thought i'd ask you guys help me arrive at a price,should i decide to sell them.They are black leather with red stitching,and what looks like candy apple red back plates,obviously used but in nice condition.Any sensible advice welcome.Forgot to add that they are the type which are similar to T350 ones,and not like the Tuscan seats.Cheers,Mike

I presume theyd be worth quite alot to someone with a candy apple red Sag with no seats in it.

Try one of the breakers like bell Hill and see what theyre selling em for

I presume they're not from _the_ Candy apple Sag? Maybe worth asking Gaffer, IIRC the original seats from the show had been removed from the car and replaced when it was sold.

If they are Candy Apple, you are sitting on (excuse the pun!) some very valuable seats there mate! They were indeed removed (as were the original wheels as well) and it is 'Gaffer' (Claire) who has the car currently.

If I were a betting man I would guess that they are not of standard material either. Perhaps CF? Who knows, but to go to the trouble of removing the seats must mean something...

Hmmmm,thats interesting.I am guessing that the colour is candy apple red,having seen this colour in the flesh before,but of course it might not be.It's only fair that Claire might want them if this is the case,so i'd better contact her before i commit myself to selling them.

I'd be happy to either buy those off you direct, or if Gaffer wants them, I would buy hers.

The seats were removed from Gaffers car to try Sparcos which her car had for a while.

At which Motor Show was that rear shot of Gaffer's Sagaris taken?

Was the grey Sagaris with the bulbous exhaust shield before or after Gaffer's Sagaris?

Were both these Sagaris prototypes produced in PWs era?

Candy is the 1st Sag built, the grey the 2nd. The grey went to MPH as Candy was being played with in development. Grey is now wrote off.

Yes both are PW cars.

My seats are CF backed. It had 3 or 4 sets of seats over its lifetime - after all its the Development Prototype. The CAR seat backs were just used at shows and then removed for development work so it wasnt scratched.

Yep, it appeared briefly in the PH clas's a few months back for a day. It was advertised as the original grey car, but it had a standard back, which threw me a bit. I enquired about the car and the owner at the time admitted it had been rebuilt after a rear end smash. All the other pics tied up to the original car e.g. open vents, different side slash, interior etc etc

After mulling it over for a few hours I went to make the guy an offer but he said it had been sold for somebody's private collection. It disappeared from the clas's a few hours later.

I definitely prefer the backend on Gaffer's Sagaris BUT wasn't it the second attempt at the backend after the very bulbous backend on the grey Sagaris.

If Gaffer's is Number One then was the backend on it changed at some stage from the bulbous first attempt or is it Number Two after the grey one?

Thanks for the info - SO can you or anyone else definitely confirm that 'Candy' started out with that bulbous rear end seen on the grey car as well?

If so that expensive paint job must have been very very difficult to match again after the cutting and reshaping.

Certainly when I saw 'Candy' at FoS there was absolutely no sign that it had ever been altered - I think TVR should have stuck with the second rear treatment as seen on 'Candy' - it's better than the final version IMO.

I've been led to believe the seats in my Tamora were originally designed for the Candy Sagaris but weren't wacky enough!! so were placed in the 2004 Tamora show car. "Both cars were shown together at the motorshow". I think the seats in my Tamora are unique but are not the best looking. I can see why they changed the design, the wings at the top of the back rest look a bit out of place, probably why the design is more curvy a the top now. Still it's nice to have a bit of originality.

My standard seats are also available John, after replacing with Cobras... selling various bits is still on my 'to do list
