Seems quite good at the moment. Only 1 private car for sale and one dealer car on the PH classifieds.(the Hexham car and the Verdi car I understand are sold).

The dealer car has gone up in price by 2500 GBP.

Not too unhealthy at the moment it would seem..smile

Yeh,

The yellow Sag is mine, don't want to sell it, but it's not getting used since the arrival of Little Ginner.

Need to get something to replace the Sag and the Vectra, was thinking of VXR8, closest thing i can see to a TVR with 4 doors.

I plan to look at purchasing a Sagaris in the new year (easter time) but the prices seem to be really high at the moment..

I wish I picked up the a Sagaris last summer, the same spec now is £7000 more!!

Why is this? Is the winter generally a 'up the price' time of year for TVR's?

Limited number built and the recognition by many that it probably is the best TVR ever built.

The longer time drifts without a glimmer of new cars, the longer the cars will command good money. Buy now while dealer stocks last....

What spec are you after BTW?

I think prices are not necessarily high at the moment but they were fairly depressed 6-12 months ago as a result of the collapse of the company. As said, the realisation that there is life for TVR ownership after the factory closure coupled with the Sagaris being so good is the recipy for strong prices now.

I for one am not interested in selling because I am looking forward to continued enjoyement with the Sag next year on road and track. If I did sell for £35k what could I go out and buy to match the performance, fun-factor and exclusivity?????????????

Not a single sniff on mine in 4 weeks, not one, despite "reasonable offers welcome". Car's now up at TVR Centre in Barnet, gave up on Pistonheads.

To be honest I looked at your car (again its a little early for me) but when there are cars available with 4k or 8k miles for the same(ish) price its hard to look at 14k..

That's why I put "reasonable offers welcome", the price I listed it at was under advisement from a couple of dealers who had sold them recently. What matters most on these cars as everyone on the forum will agree is how well they have been looked after and whether they have been used regularly and reasonably rather than left lying around - as opposed to mileage. I have spent thousands and thousands this Year perfecting this car and it even has the full Gold Wear and Tear Warranty on it which usually costs 1400 quid to start with. Dom at Power says it's one of the very best he's driven.

how much has a dealer offered you, a friend has a low mileage 05 car and the most he was offered was £30k. And it is mint.

He won't take less than 35k and I don't blame him. Might buy it myself.

With so few cars I believe most are in the hands of people that want to keep them. Anyone that really wants one...will get one and this is going to lead to an even shorter number of sags becoming available...and as such...i'd have thought sag owners could almost hold the cars values by not being prepared to sell for anything less than £xx,xxx? I've had mine from new on an 06 plate...super car. It has actually crossed my mind to stick the thing in storage for a while? Am I mad?

I would prefer a car thats been used with 10k or more on clock rather than one thats been stored. Even better if it was set up right with nitrons.

Don't quite understand that one. Improved set up with these cars does not start with the shocks (the standrad ones are fine for road and track). It is improved to great effect with tyres, brakes and revised castor and camber settings. If I were however to change the shocks it would very certainly be for something other than Nitrons.

It's a bit like this with TVRs -

Anything on HBEs - change the shocks ASAP
Anything on Billies - do wheel geometry, tyres, bushings etc. first, then if/when the shocks are getting on a bit have them rebuilt/revalved. Change to Ohlins if you're feeling flush. wink

Agree with that - including the Ohlins choice. Just took our Tamora off HBEs (one died) and had the Billies fitted with Tuscan S rear springs. Not driven it yet but expect to see an improvement (beyond all the shocks now functioning rather than just three as previous wink )

If the standard ones are fine for you, great.

I would go for Nitron/Ohlins(not much difference between the two IMHO) R888/Dunlop SSR and a aggressive camber setting etc just for starters.

As it would be used mainly for TD

Daftlad,

I'd be very interested to hear how you get on with the Billies - especially if they're for road (rather than track) use. What's the reasoning behind using Tuscan S springs? Isn't is an Eibach that usually accompanies a Bilstein shock?

I will keep you posted (it is mianly road use. Reason for Tuscan S springs was that the standard Eibach springs are almost coil bound and cannot work as intended (though to be honest it always felt very good). The S spring was recommended by the dealer.

Mine is used almost exclusively on track.

I supsect you do not have a Sagaris.

A move from the standard shocks and agressive camber settings are not a necessary requirement. Every now and then, a car is made that needs only tweeks to remove a compromise. The Sagaris is such a car.
