Decat + Chip + Super Sports Exhaust

My car is booked in at TVR power for a decat & chip. I already have the super sports exhaust which is very loud. I will try get some before/after videos and sound files.

I've also got some new rear speakers to install, HID kit to fit and a Meguiars G220 machine polisher to make it look shiney.

Sounds great, i bet can't wait to get it back.

I've got the JP sports exhaust on my T350 so i'm interested in how much difference in noise the decat will make and along with the chip how much power difference there is.

Just noticed you've owned 2 euroboxes.
What did you think of them compared to the TVR?
My mate had a Carrera S which was very good but for fun factor and sheer thrill i preferred my Tuscan.

Well I had the Boxster first of all for two years and loved it. I then sold that for the 996 C4 Cab. To be honest if I had the chance to own either of them now I would choose the Boxster over the 996. I use to get a lot of comments like "Can't you afford a 911?" and "That's a poor mans Porsche". Bearing in mind that I was only 19 when I first bought the Boxster. The Boxster was a lot more fun to drive, it wasn't as quick as the 996 but handled a lot better. I felt safer in the Boxster when cornering hard. Anyway I sold the 996 cab this year and bought my chameleon green T350. I don't regret selling the 996.

So the question now is boxster or T350?
Hopefully that shouldn't take much answering!!
Or maybe you should answer it after you get the decat and chip sorted.

Without a doubt its the T350.

In my eyes the T350 is different gravy. It has something that no Porsche can provide without spending more then 100k.

The question I ask myself now is, what shall I get next?

iv asked myself that question, its either saggy or something italian, cant think of anything else that would give as thilling an experience!

I want either an Orange or lime Green Sagaris, red 360 Spyder or a Gallardo in yellow/orange.

The de-cat is likely to give you a bit more peak power/torque, but should make the car better to drive through the rev range by better than peak gains in power/torque. De-cat will make the car louder.

Why ? unless you're tracking the car, I doubt a Sag is going to give you much more than your very sorted T350. In fact, given what you've had done to your T350 it will probably out-perform most Sags anyway - all IMHO of course.

Yeh i agree, i just cant help being tempted by the classifieds!

I need to get my car to more trackdays too, as other than the nurburgring i didnt go to any this year because of work and then the engine being done.

I have just fitted some 6x9 Infinity speakers in the rear. It was a bit of a nightmare cutting the fibre glass but it sounds ten times better now. I have also bought some Infinity Component speakers for the door cards but they are a bit too big. Has anybody else fitted front speakers to the door cards?

I'm also getting my T350 chipped and decatted tomorrow, so I will update you on the noise and performance difference.

You will notice the noise, you may notice the drivability. You will not notice any performance improvement, you may however wish to convince yourself otherwise as you have spent lots of dosh....

Got the chip and decat sorted yesterday. It was definitely worth the money. The sound after 4000rpm is awesome. I noticed a big increase in the performance especially in first gear. My car feels more responsive now. Dom at TVR power was very helpful, I would highly recommend him. My car will be back there next month for a 6k service.

Gald you're happy with it, surprised you had it done on a car that needed a service though.....strange.

It is reckoned that it takes around 10% difference inBHP before you notice a performance change. Nice to see you noticed a big increase, that suggests more than 10%...what do the before and after dyno overlays look like?

I paid about 500 odd but had a few other bits done.
It's definitely worth it. It now flames as well.
