Ideas?

Hi all,

bit of a wierd one.

Water levels all fine.
Oil levels fine.
engine temp gets to around 74degrees.
oil temp around 45-50degrees.

At this point lots of steam from the rad.
looks like its coming through the fins of the rad.

Any ideas?

Maybe a slight chance you have a leak from the radiator?

Maybe a slight chance water is evaporating of wet radiator when thermostat opens ?!

sounds just like i had with our T350c two rads in two years both leaked down the side's

had the exact same on my t350 last summer. Couldn't find any obvious leak. Was advisd to warm the car up round where you live, then just before it reches steaming temp, roll back home and let it get the last few degrees on your drive then stick you head under your bonnet and see exactly where the steam in coming from. Mine turned out to only be a pin hole but as my rad was knocking on a bit i purchased a new one.

Probably cracked down the seam.

Will be covered by the warranty (mine was).

That's what mine was replaced with.

Had a large hole in my TR6 rad, fixed it with a dolop of fibreglass. Still no sign of a leak and that was 30 years ago, good stuff.

Have had this on the Sag recently if it has been parked in the wet. When I had driven a few miles then stopped at a junction, steam coming from rad, but no problems with loss of fluid, so assume it is water lying on and around the rad evapourating once the rad is hot enough to cause this. No further problem after car warmed up
