What will cover me on engine failure alone?

Hi Enjybenjy,

I'm getting a Tamora on Saturday from Racing Green, my first ever TVR. I had concerns about all the engine problems I've read about, so, I've paid extra for a 12 month mechanical breakdown warranty which will cover the car against anything mechanical going wrong such us engine failure (I hope). I'm not sure whether you will be able to just buy that kind of warranty from them tho???

On another note, you must be the guy in Wallington with the awesome black T350??? I drove through there the other day and saw it sat out in the rain. The only other TVR I've seen around a couple of times in that area is a bright red Tuscan1???...

I only live up the road in Priddys Hard (Gos'pit) so I may see you around???

I have only made a couple of claims for minor items and they seem happy to pay up each time.

Unlike most warrantys they will pay up to the value of the vehicle for each payout and all engine parts are covered on their platinum cover which cost me £500 for the year.

Their policy states that it will cover all parts and labour for engine failure but I don't have any experience of what they actually pay out.

Cheers guys. I got an Autoprotect Gold (wear and tear) with the car when I bought it. It'll run out next month. Just wondered what others were with and how much you paid before I renew (if at all?!!)
