Newbie Tvr Advise T350 or speed 6

Recently started my own company and had to sell my Megane 230 R26 and live with my work van for a while!

I have now got to the stage where im looking for another car and was looking at scoobies or another R26 ect. I got browsing on The Tvr section and was amazed how cheap a really nice Tvr can be picked up for:

now I don’t really know a great deal about TVR's and although I know too much information about cars im no mechanic, if driven carefully and serviced at TVR ect are these going to be reliable?

im also about 6'5 tall, will I fit?

my main concern is not fitting, at 6 foot 5 i cant fit in any lotus's ect

Had Red Rose Tuscan Mk1 for 6 months, excellent car. At 6'4" there was loads of space headroom and leg length. Sag is slightly more compact overall. N

I'm 6ft 5 - no problems fitting in. I had a thinner seat base cushion made up to make it even better for me though.

Not sure what you mean about "350 or speed 6"?

The Tuscan, T350C, T350T, Tamora and Sagaris all use TVR's Speed 6 engine.

I think you should fit in OK - the old boss of TVR (Peter Wheeler) always made sure he would fit in the car and he was around 6' 6"

IMO both are great sports cars treated with necessary respect.

But if you often drive anywhere near the limit of grip, the T350 is less likely to lose composure on mid-corner bumps or - in real extremes or accidental clumsy handling - exit tail-first.

im a sensible driver, had some powerfull cars and treat them with respect, wouldny say near the "edge" of anything

more reliabilty is the issue, like i said im no mechanic so just want the peice of mind really

what milage do most TVR's start playing up?

Tuscan2, Tamora and T350 are all v similar, its just different styling so pick the flavour you like (note: Tuscan 1 was more of a handful).

I'm 6ft 5 and used to fit in my Cerbera fine (probably one of the best cars I've driven for leg room). I've tried a T350 and that was OK too but I found the leg room a bit tight in a Tuscan.

I guess it varies from person to person as I also tried a Elise recently and that was just about OK - although getting in/out was a bit interesting!

Had a tuscan now have a T350 which is by far in every way better, which as you posted here and not the Tuscan forum is in your line of thought anyway.

The tuscan is a handful to drive and imho slower into corners and generally less fun to move around town in. It does however have a bigger boot and the total roof off experience.

The T350 has a better feel in terms of build quality and reliability, the earlier tuscan nutoriously goes through engines (see profile - mine had 2 rebuilds)

My history is the same, except for rebuilds luckily, and i can't agree more. The T350 is purely and simply a better car to drive than an early Tuscan. I haven't however driven a Tuscan 2 but hopefully will one day. The Tuscan is for me a better shape and with the roof off adds another dimension.

Me too, I am 6'8", i had a thinner cushion made and had the pedals moved forwards in my Tamora. There is loads of room
