'Flap Position'

...under the 'Factory' Menu, what the hell is this and what does it do??

flap that separates hot and cold air flow. guess it sets the cold as not freezing or the hot not to strip the skin off your face.

Stops you cooking and letting burning aior onto your legs!

If it's set correctly this will not happen
Factory setting is 16
Mine is 26 and never cooks

OK. I only seem to get hot air coming out of my dash top vents? I'm not really sure how the whole heating thing works - I can't seem to get hot air out of the vents immediate to me? Any ideas - do I need to fiddle with my flaps then?

I don't think you can! As I understand it, each set of vents is dedicated in a fiendishly complex way. Heated air at the top, external air in the middle, and air-conditioner below.
