OK ONE FOR THE ELECTRICAL GUYS !

WE HAVE A TAMORA IN STOCK THAT THE DIP BEAM LIGHTS HAVE STOPPED WORKING TOGETHER WITH THE HAZZARD WARNING LIGHTS. I AM NOT SURE IF THESE ARE RELATED OR JUST COINCIDENCE BUT HERE GOES

THE SIDE LIGHTS AND MAIN BEAM WORK BUT WHEN TURNING THE LIGHT CONTROL SWITCH THROUGH ITS POSITIONS, WHEN YOU FLICK IT TO SIDE LIGHTS, THE WHOLE DASH GOES DIM, WHEN ONTO DIP BEAM IT GOES BACK TO NORMAL BUT WITH NO DIP BEAM

WE HAVE CHECKED THE LIGHT CONTROL ECU AND SWAPPED IT WITH ANOTHER CAR WITH NO LUCK, THE BATTERY IS FULLY CHARGED AND EVERYTHING ELSE WORKS FINE

I HAVE READ A FEW THREADS WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS ON CERBERAS WHERE THE LIGHTING DIP CONTROL UNIT WAS AT FAULTY AND THIS SOUNDS LIKE THE SAME ISSUE, BUT FROM WHAT I CAN SEE, THE NEWER TVR'S LIGHTING CONTROL ECU IS ALL BUILT INTO ONE

DOES ANY ONE HAVE ANY IDEAS TO HELP ???????

There is a menu on the control panel that allows you to set the brightness of the dash lights, depending on the light switch position.

Both buttons at once when you are on the 'main menu' screen then scroll through the screen.

Sound like it is set too low (10% at a guess).

Ok. The %settings are a bit higher than I thought.

Scroll to <main menu> and press both buttons.
Press the down button to highlight <2. Setup> and press both buttons.
Scroll down past the contrast and brightness menus until there is a screen with <Dials> on it.

Mine looks like:

Dials
Off 90%
Side 95%
Main 98%

---

Volume Eng on 40%
Volume Eng off 50%

---

If you change your Dials % figures to these or close it should sort it. You can see the intensity changing as you adjust the numbers.

Once changed then press both buttons again to exit the adjustment, scroll back to <return to main menu> both buttons, move back up to <1. Normal> both buttons and you should be back in business.

ok well thats fixed the lights dimming so that wasnt related to the fact i have no dip beam, thanks mate !

i still have no dip beam though .. any ideas guys? i am about to pull my hair out !

Problem with a relay?

checked them all, seems to work fine and switched the light control unit with another tamora and it still had the same problem

tried all of the ones in the fuse brd under the dash on the drivers side .. unless there is a secret mistery one ?

What about the rotary knob/switch itself. Its got some electrical gizmo's on it?

What year is the Tam? Does it have the large spot lights or small fog lights?A real shot in the dark, did you change the light switch from the same model year? Or what is the chance of both headlight bulbs blowing?

turned out to be a troublesome relay .. found by my auto electrician

I think its a false worry.....it will never be missed in that colour anyway

to be honest this post was for a grey one we had in a couple of months ago, i just noticed i hadnt finished off the story as it were
