Fuel Smell in Boot

In Tamora. Is the permanent smell of petrol in the boot normal? I have never spilt a drop into the boot or even overfilled so why does it smell all the time?

Does the breather pipe open in to the boot or something?

This is worth checking on last TVR.(T350)had same problem.Over the nearside wheel arch behind the seat belt theirs a vent valve if the plastic pipe is broken thats your problem.Its about 1/4 inch in dia.

could be the rubber fuel pipe connecting the tank to the hard pipe under the boot moulding cover

I had a similar problem in a tamora and it turned out the fuel tank had split!
It was pretty costly, I managed to get a second hand tank for about £500 but I think new tanks were around £1,000 and could be difficult to source.
I hope its nothing as serious as this for you. But I would get it checked out asap as a leaking fuel tank is not the safest thing to have 3ft behind you!

I'm pretty sure that I remember a similar thread a while ago. I think it was a fault with the pipework on some of the earlier cars IIRC.

Mine was similar - found that one of the seams had sprung a leak when I went to look at the car - however the garage I bought it from managed to find someone who could repair it - 3 years on it's still fine

If it is the tank Frosts do a repair kit (think its made by POR company?!)

No experience of it - but its less, far less, than a new tank, could be worth a try.
