Chav Magnets?

Hi...

I'm loving my T350C I just bought, best car I have owned, just put on the TVR Power exhaust system and the sound is to die for, much better than my old 911 which had the Fabspeed setup.

Anyhow, having owned the car for a couple weeks now and lost count how many chavs and neds in halford special novas and imprezas are always sitting on the back of the car, weaving around wanting to race. Also, white van man seems to love the TVR, one guy this morning an inch of the back of the car, flashing his lights, ended up overtaking me in a 30 whilst I was sitting at 30 and went through a red light to get past me......

Few days back, two chavs in a done up fiesta driving towards me, both pointing at my car and giving me the "wr" sign, was amazed.

I am old and mature enough to not lower myself and floor it, just amazed at how many idiots the car seems to attract and why everyone seems they have a point to prove...

Is this just me and only relates to monkeys in and around Edinburgh? I never had this problem with the Porsche or Z3M Coupe.

I had the same problem when I got my car, as I have the same tvr power silencers as you.
The only conclusion I came to for people hanging inches of the back of the car, was that they are “digging the sounds man.”
Give it a couple of months and as your car gets known around your area it will drop off.
Until then just give them plenty of room, with a smile or a wave as they pass.
I’m affair it’s just the price you have to pay for having such a cool and fairly unique car.

I've never experienced this: it's normally the opposite as people tend to realise TVR drivers are enthusiasts rather than some arse who's just got his annual bonus from trading stocks!

I've lost count of the number of times a car load of threatening blokes have wound down their windows just to give me the thumbs-up!

I would just like to share a little story on this.
I've only had my Tam for a few weeks now and am still getting used to her.
It was a bright sunny day, the roofs down, the shades are on and I'm looking like a smug git...you get the picture? So, there I am, rumbling along the M27 on the inside lane not doing any speed at all. From behind me I hear "BEEEEEEP, BEEEEEEP, BEEEEEEEP". I look over to my right and there's this big bloke in a big Rover flashing his lights at me pulling up alongside. I'm thinking Arrrgh what does he want??? He slows right down next to me and stares over. He then does the biggest grin and a big thumbs up. He nodds in approval and then boots it off up the motorway. BONKERS!!! I was pretty bemused, but it made me laugh.

Personally I`ve had a very positive response from the public and chav's alike with my Sag (albiet its only been 3 weeks of constant grinning, which will probably age me )

No w*nker or negative comments at all!

Some of my observations..

1. Most people point and stare,
2. Alot of people drop the window for a listen on the way past
3. The odd person sits on my bumper
4. I generate long tail backs in slow moving traffic as people sit just behind me in the next lane over.
5. Pops and Bangs scare children and old people (including my dad!)
6. Starting the car at a petrol station results in about 30 eyes on me

Wouldn`t change it for the world

Hi...

No, it's a chameleon blue T350C with the 18" wheels on it (Edinburgh, near Easter Road)

The last week or so its been a complete change, people grinning, got a nod from a guy in a red 360, couple people have chatted to me at petrol stations etc.

I put the TVR Power exhaust on it last week, just can't get over the sound, it's addictive.

Came back from an evening out in Aberdeen a couple of years ago, to find a group of six or seven people standing in front of the Sag.
A girl who had been half-kneeling in front stood up, and said to the others "Hmm, menacing, but in a kinda nice way...".

The tailgaters and racers happen to any performance car, to one degree or another, but 99% of the time the feedback is very positive.

I make a point of letting people have a look inside if they are that interested, and it is always met with terrific enthusiasm - kids and adults alike. The TVR effect, like no other!!

i have plenty of nice comments, and if there is one being slightly clever, i ask if he wants to sit in it.

they always says yes, then close the door and see how little he appears to his mates when he cant find out how to open the door


never had trouble yet, mind you, im not a small bloke, so that may help a little
