(Soon to be) New T350 owner - any tips or advice??

Hi guys.

I'll be collecting my car from the TVR Centre on Saturday, all being well, and I can't wait!

Does anyone have any sage words of wisdom / useful advice (other than 'don't do it') to help me in my transition from complete n00b to 'responsible' TVR owner?

Looking forward to upsetting the neighbours

Some points I would recommend..

1. Make sure 50c oil before you even think about using the loud pedal.
2. Check the oil and water every week, mine uses water (1 litre per 1500 miles) due to the crap alum radiators on the S6 but no/little oil.

I've already got the grinning thing sorted - when I went out for a test drive last week, I was giggling like a small child as we took off down the road and by the time I got back to the dealer was doing a fair impression of the Cheshire cat!

Best tip I can give!!!!
Do you know if your car has still got the stand exhaust ?
If so while your dealer is preping your car, get them to change the standard tvr silencer for TVR power super sport silencers, its one of the easiest and best upgrades you can make you will not regret it.

Are they significantly louder? Don't get me wrong, I love the sound of the car but I'm not sure louder would be bearable to the other half and the other inhabitants of the village :-)

Do they make a big difference to the power / torque / drivability?

What's the damage (cost-wise)?

Hi...

Enjoy the car mate, I got mine only a couple weeks, am still grinning.

I put the TVR Power exhaust system on mine, the noise is very loud but just how a TVR should sound.

It should not use any water, you have a leak or you are overfilling it.

only had mine 3 months love every second of it ,sure you will too have fun,

This will be the best thing you have ever done in your life. That's a promise.

As far as the exhaust goes, I tried these and they are great and I love a loud exhust but they were just too much for me in the end and I swapped back to standard. I'd recommend you live with it for a bit and then see.

Don't press the loud pedal till you get out of the neighbourhood!

Not much.

Other tips:
Drive it every day, It's not a car to keep for weekends.
Do a Ride Drive day, it's the best accessory you can buy for your car.
If the radiator is leaking get it changed, Automeadon do a good upgrade.

I'm not a TVR owner (hopefully a future owner) but every forum I've read and person I have spoken to has suggested the more you drive it the better it is. People that leave them in the garage seem to suffer the most problems.
