Quick question please: I'm currently insured with A-Plan and its up for renewal. As their renewal quote is more than last year, does anyone have any current recommendations for a Sagaris? Thanks.

Derek, have you tried Hagerty ?
It's worth reading the info on their web site first, re not everyday use cars, mileage etc.

Try Privilege, they are usually very competitve although A Plan actually beat them for me this year.

I've just switched to Adrian Flux after completing a RideDrive course. True to their advertising they beat my renewal (from Mannngs) by 25%. I was very happy with Mannings, they have a nice personal touch. Flux is a much better deal financially, though.

Did you haggle? I assume you haggled. I wasn't happy that my A-Plan quote was near enough the same as last year (£600) so they lopped off £100, which was nice.

Another vote for hagerty, they are superb, they where around £250 cheaper than anyone else.

I was about to give with A-Plan (who had best quote on the table) till I gave Direct Line a call which knocked a further £90 off - well worth a call...

Phoned around. A-Plan originally gave me a renewal price of £949 via Groupama. Tried Hagerty who quoted £767. Privelege were expensive at over £1,300, but said they would match re current advertising campaign. But A-Plan came back with a further quote at £739 via Markerstudy. So well worth a few calls. Thanks for the help.

Just phone Hagerty as my insurance is due at the end of the month and it has gone from just over £700 with Aplan to under £450 .

You must be low mileage then Matt because Hagerty told me that the max they would cover is 5k per annum. Apples and pears, A Plan have no such restrictions. But if you can live with restricted mileage Hagerty are very competitive. Nice people too.

Also £700 sounds a lot. My Tuscan was on with A Plan for under £500, inc no claims protection and est mileage of 10k, and the upgrade to Sag cost only £50. I wouldn't mind betting if you call Darren and tell him what you've been quoted he will beat it.

Yeah I have limited milage as I work away and is a 2nd car .

FYI Hagerty only insure TVR's as a second vehicle; you must have another car in your name as a primary vehicle. Mine is an everyday driver so no use.

Also, I believe your P&J must be garaged and not used for work purposes (incl. driving to and from work).

Saying that, I'm very happy with my premium of just £274 on the tamora

Went to moneysupermarket.com, put in the details, best quote was 421 fully comp on my 06 Sagaris (with RAC). The guy said that I had saved 15% by adding my wife onto the insurance - apparently that means you are less of a risk?!?!!?

I paid £445 fully comp this year for my Sag with Privilege including protected no claims and legal protection.

mag and were even £100 cheaper than my renew
