T350 ELECTRICS. HELP....
Discussion
I have had my T350T for about 7/8 months now and never had any issues... until now. The car was used on a daily basis, however I've been away for two months in the states and since i've come back this problem has started. The car was getting looked after by my girlfriends dad and was garaged, he would check on every few days and start it up and ocassionally a quick spin. The only issue he had was the battery going dead.
Anyway to the main issue and point for this post, I got back very excited to see her again, and all was going well, gave her a good blast (200 mile round trip) one weekend and was driving fine, until last week drove up town, parked went for a wonder, came back and the key wouldn't open door or unlock car, no lights were flashing inside car seemed dead. went and collected spare key still nothing. phoned TVR were I bought it, very helpful but no diagnosis. So I phoned AA.
AA arrived luckily he was quite in the know when it comes to TVR's, and eventually after playing round for a while got it started after playing with one of the fuses for the immobiliser I think. I forgot to say by the time the AA got to me the key was turning on the ignition but i was getting no crank. He said he thinks it was static on the fuse...
So the other day driving along, stopped at traffic lights, and the car went dead, couldn't even put hazards on, 2 secs later it came back to life, quickly started and carried on, then 2 miles down the road driving at about 30 and everything went dead whilst moving, (glad I wasn't on the motorway doing 80) and this time it wouldn't start again, so I had to try and push park it and leave it as I had to go to work. Went back later that night and the alarm light was flashing so opened it and drove her home, Haven't used her since (about 4 days).
Okay so the car is nearly due its second service so do I just put it in for service and this problem, maybe this issue would be covered under my warranty... however im in Edinburgh, bought it from Drivestyle in Harrogate, so I dont really want to drive down there knowing that it might cut out at any point.
So I was wondering If anyone knew what the problem might be, how to fix it, or get the car to drivestyle, cheaply without driving it. Any feedback would be awesome.
Sorry for such a long rant, I promise I'll keep the next post shorter.
Oh and I'd really like to resolve issues like this before I drive her to Le Mans this year, cant wait for that.....
I have a few other questions, but I will save them for another post.

This may well be the problem, not sure if it varies by battery type but I have had the plates in a battery warp before and when they touch the electrics go to pieces. The results are sporadic as in your post as when they stop touching all is relatively fine in the world. The battery will cost less than an hours labour in most places so would be a good and cost effective place to start.

Hi,
I can't be of much help with your electric problem as it is not someting I have experienced. Could you edit your message to be less specific about your method of entry when your key did not work? Not good to publish that sort of stuff.
Thanks
N.
Do you not get in through the "secret Walled Garden" then ?I can't be of much help with your electric problem as it is not someting I have experienced. Could you edit your message to be less specific about your method of entry when your key did not work? Not good to publish that sort of stuff.

All sorted !!
That's not silly at all.
During the first few months on having mine the little bugger appeared to die on me twice on a garage forecourt. Turned out the battery connections were loose. PDI had missed it completely.
It then ate fuses for a while untill one Sunday I spent a while tightening up every bloody connection I could find .After that she was fine.
.....and breath.......

Sounds like its losing the main battery earth. I haven't looked but I would think the T350 has a couple of earths from various parts to the chassis so to have everything go off I would be looking at the battery end of things first.
I had a very similar problem with my Cerbera and it took a trip back to the factory after several weeks of random cutting out to cure that unfortunately. Yes cutting out while doing 70
in the outside lane is scary.

You know what I think your all probably spot on. Took the car out for another small journey up town (car seemed to be working again) parked up and what do you know...
Called AA again, got it started by dis-connecting one of the fuse box's, a little black one under passenger footwell, Is that the immobiliser fuse box?
I asked him to follow me home which he kindly did, made it all the way home and as I was reversing into space, cut out again. So he had a look at the battery, he took an earth off the cigarette lighter and it was only reading 2.4v. He checked the battery and one of the connections was way loose, as he started tightening it up the alarm went off and it seemed to kick into life again, started fine.... still seems, locks are working e.t.c
I've booked her in for her 6k service which is just about due, and get them to look at this problem anyway, but maybe it was just the battery. Still a bit nervous to take her out for a drive due to the fact its not a very nice experience when it cuts out at traffic lights or whilst driving. Especially worried as I have to drive her down to harrogate for service, LOL..
Thanks for the help.
