tick over when air con on

Hi had to alter my idle speed because it dropped to 500rpm or less when air con was on and kept on stalling so now i have alterted the tick over to 1000rpm and when air con is now on & it drops to 700rpm is everybodys else like this or just me! (Good day at Chatsworth nice pies too nice!)

My tick was too slow when I first got the Sag and was prone to labour when cold or with the aircon on. Now set to 850 and it's a lot happier. So am I

Mine idles about 850, but only drops to 750 when aircon comes on.

Mine's just back from a quick service (and getting the trottles bodies balance)

I runs fine when cold (750rpm), around 950rpm when hot and drops about 100rpm with air-con (and about 50rpm wen both fans kick in)

I think you need to adjust the idle every 2000 miles or so (depending on usage, but mines an everyday car atm)

Spoke to Drive Style & they say it could do with its engine setting up takes an hour(£70)so will nip over and get it sorted as i have changed the idle when air con is off to 1000rpm but when air con is on still drops to 500rpm and then cuts out cheers

yep, tickover gets lumpier and weaker as the TBs go out of balance.

Exactly.. mine now idle's much better (infact better than it was delivered *ahem*)

Drive style have kept the car as they think the air con compressor is at fault as its using to many revs when switched on in fact they have to set the idle at 1450rpm so not to stall the engine when air con is on keep you posted

Just tell them to throw a bit of oil over it to loosen things up!

I had a spare compressor which i sent back to my dealer,wish i had of kept hold of it now

Hi got car back today spot on have to say the service i got at Drive Style was really good the aircon pump was covered under the warrenty but the gas wasnt. I also needed new throtle linkages as the screws which ajust the tick over had worn through the back plate which they screw down on to, overall a good job £75 for gasing up & £200 for linkages and setting up engine (pump WOULD! of cost me £389 + vat+ fitting)
