Sports Exhaust and De-cat

My T350 is about to go in for a service and I think i'm going to get them to fit tvr power exhaust, is it worth getting a de-cat done aswell does this increase the exhaust noise further?

Is the exhaust alone loud enough?

How much louder would it be with De-cat and does anyone know how much extra it would cost?

Is it a pain come M.O.T time?

I had the sports pipes from when i bought the car so i don't know what a standard one sounds like, then i fitted the de-cats - christ on a bike its loud, you will piss people off with them, you will make people smile with them and you will make grannys and kids cry... i will never remove mine

MOT time is when you need to ask around for a friendly tester who will pop the cats in for £20 then remove again after...

Do you know how much it costs?

By the way, im down in edinburgh, the car is going down to drivestyle, harrogate for its service, where i bought the car. Is there anywhere closer for service work e.t.c

And do you know if Dreadknought in callinder are any good. Is it worth taking to them in the future...

Yeh Dreadnought are good, its really upto yourself who you use, most are as good as eachother.

I got the de-cats from tvrcarparts.com cant remember how much but it was roughly £300

I bought my Sagaris from Harrogate last year and also live in Edinburgh (well, East Lothian). After considering the effort & cost of sending the car back to Harrogate, I decided to use the locals, Dreadnought. They were excellent and very helpful, with the added benefit of a few Knockhill track days for customers...... They know their stuff and I trust them - they did a good job on my first service, and helped out on the niggles, e.g. fixed my 'classic' Sag loose bonnet.
I definitely recommend them.

What is it, about an hours drive from edinburgh to callinder...

I take it Dreadnought can sort most niggles, issues...

Fitted a JP exhaust system to mine seamed a good compromise between being blasted out with the cherry bombs and the standard exhuast.

Belive me it's ample loud enough if you go for somme thing too loud you'll end up with your head like mush at the end of a long drive.

Yes its a quick blat up the M8 - about 40-50 mins by taxi from Edinburgh airport (48 miles) if I remember.

Sag still running well - they fixed all the little niggles - I guess they are used to it with TVR's...... They did a v good fix on my bonnet to stop it moving around, also fixed reversing light, door opening, all the usual.

The prices are OK - I paid £1k for:
12,000 mile service including:
6 Spark plugs, oil filter, fuel and air filters, 2 valve shims, oil tank gasket, Engine oil change (Castrol Magnatec 10W 40), Diff oil (Castrol SAF - XJ), Gearbox oil (Castrol Dextron 3), Plus
Locking Wheel Nuts
Adjust Passenger & driver doors
Check ground clearance - all looks OK - all equal
Bonnet Rattle & loose security bolts fixed with rubber pads
Fit upgraded headlights (main & dip) - Osram Night Breaker
Reversing light adjusted
Engine mounts checked - small crack on passenger side but OK
Windscreen Washer on passenger side cleaned & re-holed
1 Can tyre weld
Remove starter motor, lubricate bearing and refit.

They are very good and as local as a TVR dealer gets.
